Coca-Cola overall most admired brand in Uganda – Brand Africa 100

KampalaCoca-Cola has been recognized as the overall most admired brand in Uganda according to the 7th annual Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands report released by Brand Africa in partnership with Brand Leadership, Geopolland Kantar and Publics Africa. The list is based on the comprehensive Pan- Africa survey of the most admired brands among African consumers.

Upon receiving the award, Ms. Mariam Limo Coca-Cola Brand Manager in Uganda appreciated Brand Africa for recognizing brands that are working tirelessly to create positive change in thedaily lives of their consumers and the communities they live and work in.

“It is an honor to receive this award on behalf of the hardworking team at Coca-Cola. This award is an affirmation of the work that has been done to create a positive brand image through our various campaigns, quality products and promotions,” she noted.

In Uganda, beverage giant Coca-Cola has been behind great campaigns such as the Copa Coca-Cola Uganda’s largest brand-supported grassroots football tournament, Coke Studio that empowers artists across Africa, and many others that have left a lasting influence on many Ugandans across the country. Coca-Cola has also committed to environmental sustainability through different recycling initiatives in line with their ‘World without Waste’ campaign that aims to collect and recycle the equivalent of every bottle or can for every one it sells globally by 2030.

“The scope of the Brand Africa study across such a diverse sample and geographic spread would be impossible to achieve using traditional research methodologies. Using GeoPoll’smobile-based research platform and large panel of respondents, we were able to quickly gather more than 15,000 brand mentions from 25 countries in Africa, providing brands with valuable data that will inform their growth. GeoPoll was pleased to partner with Brand Africa once again to gather this vital research across Africa,” says Nicholas Becker, GeoPoll CEO.

Kantar analyzed the resultant 15 500+ brand mentions and 2 200+ individual brands and created a weighted scoring to produce the Top 100 brands.

The Brand Africa 100 results are published in the June edition of the African Business Magazine and also available online at
