Chinese Embassy donates garbage truck to Kamwenge
Chinese Embassy in Uganda has donated a garbage truck to the newly created Town Council of Nkoma-Katalyeba in Rwamwanja, Kamwenge district.
The truck was received by the area MP Hon. Frank Tumwebaze on Thursday last week from H.E Zheng Zhuqiang, the Chinese Ambassador to Uganda. The truck will help in keeping hygiene at a positive level by collecting all the garbage in the area.
“Very pleased today Thursday 20th September to receive a garbage truck donated by the Chinese Embassy in Uganda to our newly created Town council of Nkoma-Katalyeba in Rwamwanja. I thank H.E Zheng Zhuqiang Chinese Ambassador to Uganda for being my good friend and for fulfilling his pledge made to me for my constituency last year of a garbage truck. The truck will help in improving sanitation and thus mitigate likely epidemics like cholera that come as a result of poor hygiene,” Frank Tumwebaze said.
The donation comes a few weeks after National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) launched the completion of construction of 40km water mains supplying many villages in Kibale East county.
“Together with the MD of National Water and Sewerage Corporation Mr. Mugisha Silver, we have launched the completion of construction of 40km water mains supplying water to many villages in Kibale East-Kamwenge district. I thank National Water and Sewerage Corporation, under the leadership of Dr. Silver Mugisha for implementing the NRM manifesto water targets,” Frank Tumwebaze said.
