Lubowa Ignition Tournament delivers high-speed action, laughter, and surprises as stars hit the race track.
It was a day of adrenaline, laughter, and unexpected driving skills as some of Uganda’s top celebrities ditched their usual stages and took on a new challenge—go-kart racing. The Lubowa Ignition Tournament, held on Sunday, June 1, at Lubowa Karting along Entebbe Road, brought together entertainers, media personalities, and professional racers for a day of high-octane fun.

The event kicked off with junior racers setting the pace. Youngsters confidently navigated the track, impressing the crowd with their energy and precision. As the excitement built, it was time for the professional karting league to take over. Top racers like Bebeto, Yosemite, and Henk went head-to-head, with Henk racing his way to victory and walking away with a cash prize.

But the real buzz came when the celebrities stepped into the drivers’ seats.
Music stars Big Trill, Zuli Tums, international singer Max Noir, and media names like Sammy Wetala, Evelyn Mic, and Aly Allibhai from Talent Africa traded lyrics and microphones for helmets and engines. Their warm-up laps were nothing short of hilarious, with spins, missed turns, and dramatic crashes keeping the audience thoroughly entertained.

Once they got the hang of the track, the competition heated up. In the end, NTV’s Sammy Wetala sped into first place, with Aly Allibhai and Big Trill finishing second and third, respectively.
DJ Tony kept spirits high with nonstop music, creating a lively festival atmosphere.

Lubowa Karting Director Emil Kwame Ampofo praised the event, saying, “The celebrity heat was incredibly fun to watch. The energy from the track and the crowd exceeded all expectations. We’re excited to make this an annual highlight.”
With roaring engines, cheers, and unfiltered fun, the inaugural Lubowa Ignition Tournament was a resounding success.
