Basoga Community in UAE celebrates Kyabazinga 10th Coronation anniversary
The Basoga Community in the diaspora gathered together in United Arab Emirates (UAE) and joined their fellow Basoga in Uganda to celebrate their king’s (Kyabazinga) 10th Coronation anniversary this year.
The historical event, the first of its kind among the Basoga in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) took place at Danial Star Hotel in Dubai City as Basoga from different cities of Abu Dhabi and Sharjah converged to show love and loyalty to their king, the Kyabazinga.
His Majesty the Kyabazinga was represented by Busoga Kingdom Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Muvawala who urged their subordinates to embrace the Busoga culture and discipline while in the Arabic region.
The first deputy Prime Minister of Uganda and Busoga Tourism Board Chairperson Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga attended this event on zoom and cautioned the Basoga in the diaspora to think twice of investing at home for the good of their masses they represent.
H.E the Ugandan ambassador to the UAE Zaake Kibedi, promised maximum support to the Uganda community more so to those that are most of the times frustrated at the airport terminals because of citizenship documents.
Among the leading team was Hon. Hellen Namutamba, the Busoga Kingdom Tourism and Heritage, escorted by recently crowned Miss Tourism Busoga queens, the Minister of education Busoga Owek. Nantale Nasabu, minister of youth Owek. James Mukembo, member of Parliament for Jinja Northern division Hon. David Isabirye Aga and member of Parliament for Bugabula North Hon.John Teira.
Hon. Namutamba and other Basoga said that this is just the beginning of many events to the rest of the world putting Busoga Kingdom in the lead.
This colourful event was also graced by quite a number of Busoga artists like Geobles, Cool Demus,Tina Beiby and the tourism ambassador Shon Wyz and sampled the Basoga Community in the UAE of what was showcased at Bukungu PS in Buyende Bugabula during the same event on 13th September this year.
