Another double eviction on BBNaija as Otega and Kayikunmi leave the house

This followed a jam-packed week that also saw Sabrina leave the show unexpectedly

Otega and Kayikunmi are the latest housemates to be evicted from Big Brother Naija season 10. The two received the lowest number of votes from the audience, bringing the total number of housemates out this week to three, following Sabrina’s unexpected exit earlier in the week due to health reasons.

Speaking to the one and only Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, fresh evictee Otega was all smiles. When asked why he seemed to be “detached” in the past week, Otega admitted that Danboskid and Ibifubara’s exit had an impact on him: “I didn’t expect the back-to-back eviction of my friends, so it was a whole lot of emotion to deal with… [But] towards the end of the week, I got my head back into the game.”

When asked what was next for him, Otega made it clear he was looking to build a food and screen empire: “I want to explore Nigeria’s culinary world and to teach people about our food, heritage and culture.” Next to be evicted was Kayikunmi, who, while admittedly “sad”, believed “gooder things [are] to come”. Asked why he thought he had not garnered enough votes, he said: “I feel like I didn’t put myself out there enough. I got distracted from the first day, but I don’t regret what I did, I liked the game.” He made it clear that he wasn’t referring to Isabella as a “distraction”, but rather that his relationship with her stopped him from getting to know the other housemates better. Kayikunmi was looking forward to his post-BBNaija journey, saying he was “ready and open” for any opportunities, particularly in acting. This leaves 24 housemates to battle it out for the mouth-watering N150-million grand prize, the highest in BBNaija history – and the housemates are putting in the work to get one step closer to it.

The live eviction show brought good news to Jason Jae, who was voted the Most Influential Player of the Week by his fellow housemates. It was a fitting way to end a week of wins, wars, wagers and punishments. Tracy was crowned Head of House, and the housemates won the wager for the second week in a row – Team Wacko’s Playhouse clinched the victory in the Circus Extravaganza-themed battle. And as was to be expected, the pool party and Saturday night gbedu saw the housemates shake it to the max. And we haven’t even touched on the rising tensions between the housemates: from accusations of hoarding food (while some would call it “rationing”) to provocation, threats of violence and even bullying, it was quite an eventful Week 3 in the house. But Biggie didn’t let transgressors get away scot-free. H

e punished Sultana, Doris and Isabella by making them separate a bucketful of beans and rice. But that wasn’t all: Kulture was issued a final warning; Sultana was banned from alcohol for one week and Bright Morgan received a double strike. Only Ebuka can sum things up best: “What a week, what a show and what a season we are having. This is the most epic season ever and we’re not even halfway yet.”
