Big Brother Naija Season 11 has entered an exciting new chapter, giving Ugandan fans even more reasons to stay glued to their screens as viewers across the country continue following one of Africa’s biggest entertainment shows. Following days of intense voting, Aikou and Flora have officially been confirmed as this season’s Gambits after receiving the highest number of viewer votes.

The announcement was made during Sunday’s live eviction show by host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu. Introduced as a brand-new twist for Season 11, the Gambit guarantees the two selected housemates a place in the Big Brother House until the final day.

While they will participate fully in tasks, challenges and daily House activities, they will not be eligible to compete for the grand prize.Sunday’s live show also marked the end of the Ladies-versus-Gentlemen format that shaped the opening weeks of the competition. With the teams now dissolved, the game shifts into an individual contest, raising the stakes for every remaining housemate.

Biggie also unveiled this week’s wager task, Game On, which challenges the housemates to define the identity of Season 11 through a creative presentation featuring a logo, slogan, song, artwork and props. The challenge gives viewers another opportunity to see the personalities, creativity and teamwork that continue to make BBNaija one of Africa’s most talked-about reality shows.

The excitement continues with the second Head of House Challenge, followed by this week’s nomination show, where viewers will discover the first housemates facing possible eviction. Big Brother Naija Season 11 has kicked off with unexpected twists, introducing a brand-new gameplay format that is already changing the dynamics inside Africa’s biggest reality television show.

Following the launch of the season, housemates were initially divided into all-male and all-female teams before competing in the first Head of House challenge. Chimsom Chuka won the contest to become the season’s first Head of House. However, unlike previous seasons, the title does not automatically come with residence in the Head of House Loft.Instead, the Head of House must select a name from Biggie’s Lucky Dip box. The selected housemate becomes the Loft occupant and is allowed to choose one fellow housemate to share the space.

The Head of House is not eligible to occupy the Loft.For the first Lucky Dip, Chimsom Chuka selected Tram, who then invited Sheba to join him in the Head of House Loft. The show’s first nominations have also introduced a major departure from the traditional eviction format. Housemates nominated one another as usual, with Ricky, Bellz, Nomy, Cassi, Oyin, Sultex, Godessa and Aikou receiving multiple nominations. However, viewers will not be voting to evict any of the nominated contestants this week.

Instead, the nominations introduced The Gambit, a new twist that shifts decision-making into the hands of the viewers.Rather than selecting housemates for eviction, viewers will vote for one male and one female housemate to become The Gambits. The two selected contestants will remain in the Big Brother Naija house until the end of the season. They will continue to participate in tasks, challenges, and other household activities and will remain eligible for prizes associated with those activities.

However, The Gambits will not be eligible to win the season’s grand prize.With the introduction of the new Head of House format, the Lucky Dip Loft arrangement and The Gambit twist, Season 11 begins with a series of changes designed to reshape gameplay from the outset. The much-anticipated 11th season of Big Brother Naija officially premiered on Sunday as 24 housemates from across Nigeria entered Biggie’s House, marking the start of what promises to be another compelling chapter of Africa’s biggest reality television show.

The 24 housemates – 12 females and 12 males – drawn from diverse backgrounds bring with them distinct personalities and strategies into this year’s edition themed “Show ya sef”. Over the coming weeks, they will navigate Biggie’s challenges, nominations and evictions as they compete for the grand prize of ₦160 million and the coveted title of Big Brother Naija Season 11 winner. This season’s housemates include;

Bells (Isabella Imoh) A 22-year-old student from Akwa-Ibom who enjoys reading, bowling and cycling. She considers herself a schemer and highly calculative. She is certain she will bring a lot of vibes to the house.

Kamsy (Kamsy Uzoma) A 24 year entrepreneur and event planner from Imo. She’s not so sure about her hidden talents but she is certain she is a good actress. She also admits she is an emotional person but with tough skin!

Sheba (Faith Gamde) A 32-year-old broadcaster from Plateau, Sheba is very good at voice imitation and making animal sounds. She doesn’t like a lot of people, but when she does, she tends to “suffocate you with love”.

Flora (Flora Egbedi) Flora is an entrepreneur who owns a beauty, content house and bridal brand. The 30-year-old Delta state indigene considers herself very outspoken and brutally honest. She’s bringing her personality, confidence, drama, intelligence and entertainment value to the house.

Goddessa (Lovette Okechukwu) The 32-year-old musician from Abia whose reason for coming to the house is simply because she considers herself entertaining. For Goddessa, music is her core and a high point in her life was when she staged her own music concert. She also enjoys dancing, reading and cooking.

Oyin (Oyindamola Oshikoya) Oyin, 22, is a sales entrepreneur from Ogun. She believes her personality and life story will get people to connect with her naturally. She admits that she can be brutally blunt but her ability to observe and read people is her hidden talent.

Bluethopia (Usaku Bantai) Bluethopia, 22, is a photographer, model and student from Adamawa, whose reason for going to the house is to showcase her authenticity, talent and creativity.

Nomy (Whitney Chukwu) Nomy is a 27-year-old fashion entrepreneur from Anambra. She describes herself as highly intuitive with an uncanny ability to read people accurately. Single and focused, she enters the House determined to make her mark both in the game and beyond.

Neche (Chinaecherem Maduagwu) Neche, 25, is a lawyer and entrepreneur from Anambra. A long-time fan of Big Brother Naija, she is stepping into Biggie’s House to experience the show from the inside. She describes herself as an overthinker whose need to recharge can sometimes be misunderstood.

Temi Nkem (Temitope Chigbue) Temi, 21 considers herself bold, vibrant and impossible to ignore. The 21-year-old student from Lagos believes she represents what the show needs. She describes herself as a good listener and one who gives great advice.

Abi (Abisola Ayoola) Abi, 25, is a model, chef and can speak Italian almost fluently. Married and full of confidence, she believes she is a perfect fit for Big Brother Naija. The Osun state indigene thinks her cheerful nature could sometimes annoy people a lot.

Mercedes (Ijeoma Emi) Mercedes, 28, is a self-employed performance artist and massage therapist from Delta. She’s bringing entertainment, authenticity, vulnerability, confidence, and unforgettable moments to the house.

Araga (Oluwaseyifunmi Sosanya) Araga describes himself as calm, observant, and funny when he chooses to be. The 29-year-old fashion model from Ogun believes Big Brother house is the right platform to fully break out of his shell.

Barry (Muudumbari Pop-Yornwin) A fashion designer, graphic designer and trained Civil Engineer whose secret talent is cooking? Barry is looking to be unforgettable in the house. The 25-year-old admits he is a lover boy at heart but can be extremely stubborn when hurt or misunderstood.

Tram (Joshua Alekewumu) Tram is a 24-year-old author and entrepreneur from Lagos who enjoys boxing and ‘feeding his brain’. He is currently engaged. On his reason for joining Big Brother Naija, he said the world needs to experience him as he considers himself a gem.

Gerard (Gerard Adebija) Gerard, 23, from Kogi considers himself a lone wolf. He is an actor, radio host, presenter and content creator who is looking to meet new people and create new experiences in the house.

Ricky (Patrick Jumbo) Ricky, a 33-year-old writer and filmmaker from Rivers describes himself as “The annoying entertainer”. The 6ft 6” self-acclaimed ‘bad boy’ says he is highly opinionated and a perfect fit for the show.

Chimsom Chuka (Chimsom Chuka-Okoli) 26-year-old Chimsom Chuka is a pharmacist and actor from Anambra. He is currently in a relationship and ready to live and have fun in the Big Brother Naija house.

Aikou (Amyr Yousufzai) Aikou is a 25-year-old backend developer from Abuja who pairs his technical expertise with a passion for writing. He describes himself as someone who can withstand boredom better than most, although his reserved nature and seemingly emotionless demeanor can sometimes rub people the wrong way.

Cassi (Ezenwoke Nwosu) Cassi is a 26-year-old entrepreneur from Abia looking to make a fresh start in Big Brother Naija. His hidden talents include drawing, painting and chiropractic therapy. He says his overly organized nature can sometimes annoy people.

Martins (Martins Iyeh) Martins, 29, is a creative director and model from Kogi. A basketball enthusiast, he says mind-reading is his hidden talent and admits his constant curiosity and endless questions can sometimes get on people’s nerves.

Sultex (Sultan Aregbe-Obanikoro) Professional dancer, choreographer, cast director and movie director Sultex believes Big Brother Naija is the platform to take his career to the next level. The 24-year-old from Lagos says he never sugarcoats his opinions—a trait that doesn’t always go down well with others.

Keivo (Victor Ikpe) A front-end web developer who also enjoys painting and drawing, Keivo, 27, from Benue does not care much about people’s opinions of him. His high point thus far has been completing his Master’s in Disaster Risk Management.

Yusuf (Yusuf Muhammad-Awal) 27-year-old actor from Kogi, Yusuf is stepping into Big Brother Naija in search of a platform to share his story and showcase his personality. He enjoys boxing, reading and writing, and says not everyone appreciates his unwavering belief in himself.

It was an all-female top two as Dede came in as first runner-up

After a 10-week rollercoaster of entertainment, drama, emotion, and fun, Imisi has been named the winner of Big Brother Naija season 10 in a glittering two-hour finale. Born Opeyemi Ayanwale, the 23-year-old from Oyo State beat out 28 competitors to walk away with the highest-ever prize in the show’s history: a win worth a staggering N150-million (N80-million in cash).

Imisi’s runner-up was Dede, making for an all-female top two – for the second time in the show’s history. Completing the top 5 were Koyin, Sultana, and Kola. Evicted earlier in the evening were Kaybobo, Isabella, Mensan, and Jason Jae, who rounded off the top nine housemates (this was following Faith’s disqualification earlier in the week).

Before announcing the winner, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu brought out the ladies for their final interviews on the BBNaija stage. “Both of you have a lot of followers, a lot of fans and supporters, but unfortunately only one person’s name is inside here,” he said, waving around the envelope with the winner’s name inside it. “You guys have fought a good fight, you’ve survived 10 weeks, but only one of you can take it.” Ebuka asked the finalists how they were feeling, and an emotional Imisi said: “I’m so excited. I never see myself in the top two. Words can’t even express what’s going on in my mind – I am so overwhelmed right now.”

When asked what she would do with the prize money just moments before she won, Imisi said she would take her family out on a date, and then she would “have a good sleep and think about the whole thing because right now my emotions are not really processed”.

As soon as Ebuka announced her as the winner, Imisi fell to her knees in tears. It was a beautiful end to what has been a spectacular tenth season of the much-loved reality competition show. The finale live show opened with a spirited performance from superstar Adekunle Gold singing Coco Money – a fitting choice of song. The BBNaija stage was later electrified by Iyanya as he performed One Side before Adekunle returned to sing Many People.

Ebuka also wasn’t alone in his hosting duties – joining from the fan park broadcast was Jara co-host and Big Brother Africa season 5 winner, Uti Nwachukwu. He spoke to Tope Oshunkeye, Executive Head of Marketing, West Africa at MultiChoice, who said: “On behalf of my colleagues and the production team, thank you to all the viewers and customers for their unwavering support all through the season. For us, the real win is really how the format continues to evolve. We’re pulling massive engagement and community across TV, streaming and social. It’s been a 10/10 impact and we love it.”

Earlier in the evening, Biggie had addressed the top nine while they were still in the house, and he had some words of praise and encouragement for them all as they embarked on their new journeys. “Take a good look around you: this is no longer just a house, but the stage where legends are made… You do not sit here as mere housemates, you sit as finalists – the very heartbeat of a season the world will never forget. A truly 10/10 season.”He continued: “Housemates, 10 is a symbolic and significant number… it represents the new beginning that awaits you on the outside world, the beginning of your lives as celebrities, the beginning of your greatness, and of the best years of your lives.” It echoed what Ebuka later said during the finale: “If anyone tells you that their fave carried the show, it’s a lie. All 29 of these housemates gave us a show.” The housemates – and our incredible host, of course – brought the flame this season. Big Brother Naija season 10 really was 10/10 – no notes!
