Last evening, Airtel Uganda hosted several of its Ugandan partners to an Iftar dinner at Hotel Africana in Kampala.
The event which begun at 7:00pm started with prayers in a specially prepared room before the Iftar was served to the guests who included various dignitaries, businessmen and other invited guests and Airtel customers.
Welcoming the guests to the Iftar, Mr. V.G.Somasekhar, the Airtel Uganda Managing Director noted that Ramadan is a special time for the Muslim community in Uganda and across the globe.
“Traditionally, Iftar is one of the religious observances of Ramadan and is often done as a community, with people gathering to break their fast together,” noted Somasekhar.
“This is the reason we are gathered here today, as one community, with our subscribers, management and partners,” he added.
