Former Bushenyi District LC V chairman, Willis Bashaasha has been appointed Director, Manifesto Implementation Unit in the office of the president. The appointment was confirmed by President Yoweri Museveni today. The first family press secretary Don Wanyama also confirmed Bashaasha’s appointment. Willis who hails from Bushenyi from the famous Bashaasha family carries vast experience having worked in Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) before becoming LCV chairman for Bushenyi district. He contest on the NRM ticket for Bushenyi – Ishaka Municipality MP slot but lost out.
“President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Mr Willis Bashaasha as Director, Manifesto Implementation Unit, Office of President. Among others, the 2016-2021 NRM Manifesto promised to set aside UGX53bn for a Youth Fund to promote entrepreneurship and employment,” a statement read from the President. He has been given a contract of three years.
