The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa has urged Uganda Management Institute (UMI) graduates to take pride in and love our nation, which offers the unique opportunity for even the most seemingly impossible dreams to become achievable.

He said in the near future, many of these graduates will rise to hold influential positions in both the public and private sectors in the country. He said this on Friday at UMI graduation at their campus Kampala along Jinja Road Kololo.

Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa

He challenged the graduands to embrace the role of problem-solvers saying country has many graduates but with very few who truly can tackle the problems that we face. He lauded UMI for building a strong reputation for nurturing problem-solvers.

Below is his full speech at the function;

“Postgraduate studies require significant sacrifice and dedication. I had the privilege of joining the Uganda Management Institute (UMI) graduands in celebrating their resilience, determination, hard work, and discipline—the qualities that have led them to don their academic gowns. Among the graduands were Dr. Rosemary Seninde, who earned a PhD, Hon. Godfrey Kabbyanga, who completed an MA in Public Administration, as well as MPs, civil servants, and Ugandans from all walks of life.

Life is a continuous learning journey. I encouraged them to see today’s graduation not as an endpoint but as the beginning of a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and personal development.

I also challenged them to embrace the role of problem-solvers. While our country has many graduates, there are too few who truly tackle the problems that we face. UMI, however, has built a strong reputation for nurturing problem-solvers.

We share one country. I urged the graduates to take pride in and love our nation, which offers the unique opportunity for even the most seemingly impossible dreams to become achievable. In the near future, many of these graduates will rise to hold influential positions in both the public and private sectors.

Once again, heartfelt congratulations to all the graduates,”.
