After she was nominated last week, Ms Winifred Nakandi has kicked off her quest to represent the people of Nakawa East in the 12th Parliament with serious ground work.
Earlier this month, Nakandi opted out of National Unity Platform (NUP) vetting for Kampala District Woman MP seat race sighting irregularities in the process from her party. This also forced her to abandon the party and do her thing under Democratic Front (DF) and with a new Constituency of Nakawa East.
“Behold the beginning of an Era. Nakawa East, here we come,” Winifred Nakandi wrote on her social media after the nomination.
Winifred Nakandi has now hit the ground running mobilizing for support across the Nakawa East area. These days she graces all activities in the area preaching and supporting development ideas.

She wants to see effective and accountable leadership in Nakawa East which is service oriented to the people of the area. Her past work of activism, humanitarian and development make her the right choice for the seat. Watch the space!!!
