2026 Updates: Journey to 12th Parliament as we unveil Part V of those intending to contest for the MP seats
As the 2026 general elections approaches, here is part V of the individuals who have announced their intentions to contest.
Denis Olyeko Oryema
The Real Estates guru is set to contest for Padyere County Constituency in Nebbi District. He is the voice of Padyere. Olyeko has already engaged constituents doing several activities including the Easter Cup last week.
He also set up Denis Olyeko Oryema Foundation which is providing charity work and helping the needy in the area. He is surely more than ready. “If not then why not”
Hasinah Muwanga
She is set to contest for Kampala District woman MP. She is doing ground work to ensure support.
MS Irene Odongtho Freda
She has laid her plans already to contest for Nebbi District Woman MP. She is all set, we can confirm.
Ssekande Fred
He is set to contest for Nansana Municipality seat. Fred is already doing ground work mobilising for support.
Ngobi Tonny
Senior counsel is an aspirant 2026 – 2031 for Jinja North in Jinja City, Jinja District. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in law from Makerere University, Diploma from LDC and Masters in Human Rights Law from the University of Michigan USA.
He is the Legal adviser for National Unity Platform (NUP) and a Legal partner at Lukwago and Company Advocates Kampala. He subscribes to NUP/People Power.
Anite Evelyn
She is bouncing back as woman MP for Nebbi District and she is set to tussle it out with the incumbent Hon. Acibu Agnes.
Feta Godfrey
He is coming in as MP contestant for Ayivu East in Arua City. His plans are already underway.
Odongo Oliver Aliker
She is set to contest as the Woman MP for Nebbi District. She is already doing ground work to ascertain the situation in the district.
Arwei Isaac Okello
He is coming in for Kalaki County in Kaberaimado District and he is all set for the battle.
Aine Godfrey Sodo Kaguta
He is back and ready to tussle it out again for Mawogola North constituency in Sembabule district.
Brian Mulindwa Ateenyi
The young from Kakumiro District Bunyoro sub region Western Uganda is set to contest on the post of Western Youth MP 2026 – 2031.
His youth slogan says is ‘Serving together as Youth, I have a dream’. He describes him as ‘EMPIKAHONA’ meaning he reaches everywhere.
Katagwa Patricia
She is set to contest for Bugabula South Constituency in Kamuli District.
Byarugaba James
He is set to stand for the MP Buyaga West constituency in Kagadi District.
Ogwang Patrick Obura
He has set his plans on representing Oyam South constituency in Oyam District come 2026. The ground work is already underway.
David Kintu Ssegirinya
He is set to run in for Nakawa East in Nakawa Division, Kampala.
Omirambe Cosmas
He has set his efforts on representing the people of Ora County in Zombo District.
Rizik Mama Africa
Her plans are all set for Tororo Municipality MP seat. She is already on the ground doing all the donkey work and mobilizing for support.
Ruhweju Kenneth
He will contest for Ruhinda County in Mitooma District. He has already made his declaration official to the constituents.
Komugisha Joan
She is coming in for Mubende Municipality and she has already laid her plans clear.
Damson Christmas Kivumba
He is set to contest in Rukiga County, Rukiga District. Although he faces tough battle from incumbent Hon. Roland Bish Ndyomugyenyi.
Opio Godwin
He is a Journalist by profession and Radio presenter at Nebbi based Rainbow Radio and great talkshow host, news anchor and hosts the community Parliament within the local community in Nebbi Municipality. He is a councilor in the Nebbi Municipal Council 2021 – 2026.
Known for his courage and straight forwardness, especially when addressing issues of his constituents and the people of Nebbi Municipality at large.
He is feared and known for his talks about Nebbi Municipality roads and Nebbi Goli road that is in a sorry state.
He intends to run as the Nebbi Municipality MP 2026 – 2031 on NRM ticket. He is on the ground building his ground support.
Twinamatsiko Lawrence Bijoki
He is set for Rubabo County in Rukungiri District. He is already laying ground work.
Wakibi Daniel
He is set to contest for Member of Parliament (MP) for Luuka North County Constituency in Luuka District. He is already on the ground mobilizing for 2026- 2031 support.
Wakooli Bosco
He is set to contest for Bulambuli Constituency on NRM Ticket 2026. He is already on the ground doing great work to the constituents.
Ismail Gift Nasur
He is the current mayor of Obongi Town Council and wants to upgrade and contest for the MP Obongi Constituency in Obongi District come 2026. He subscribes to the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party.
Ojok Denish Nyangkori
He wants to contest for MP Dokolo North constituency in Dokolo District. He says he is all set for the big task ahead.
