2026 Updates: Hon. Grace Freedom Kwiyucwiny set to bounce back as Zombo District Woman MP but faces tough competition

Hon. Grace Freedom Kwiyucwiny, the first Zombo District Woman MP in 2011 when it was created is set to bounce back in 2026.

The former State Minister for Northern has reversed her decision and decided to officially come back and battle it out with under fire current MP Hon. Esther, a Commissioner in Parliament who she lost to in 2021 Parliamentary elections.

The former MP wants to reshape Zombo District and drive non stop development in the area.

But she will have to battle it out with Hon. Esther Afoyochan who defeated her in the last elections.

Hon. Grace had opted to contest as the Member of Parliament for Ora County Zombo District but has since made u turn to battle embattled Parliamentary Commissioner Hon. Esther.

Zombo District having only three MP slots, Hon. Grace was advised to leave Ora and Okoro Counties for men and re contest for the Woman MP seat after an extensive discussion with the elders in Northern Uganda. The voters also said it was not going to look good with the whole district under women leadership in case she went on to win.

The Zombo District Woman MP seat 2026 is going to be a hot battle as other two youthful female politicians Ms. Giramia Fiona, Ms Adong Sarah and Ms. Afoyorwoth Mary Gorety have also joined the race. Watch the Space!!!!
