2026 Updates: Charles Okello eyes Nebbi Municipality MP seat

The ex Kyambogo University Secretary, Mr. Charles Okello, has set his plans on contesting for Nebbi Municipality MP seat come 2026.

He previously worked as CAO for Tororo, Mbarara, Soroti and Busia gaining vast experience in administration.

The experienced public administrator is seen as the man who will drive Nebbi Municipality forward and see its first proper infrastructure in place.

The veteran politician is seen as the medicine for Nebbi Municipality. He wants to see the development of proper infrastructure in the Municipality with tarmaced roads, Improved health facilities, clean and safe piped water and proper educational institutions.

Top personalities from Nebbi have expressed optimism in his candidature saying he is the person capable of turning Nebbe Municipality into a gem of development.

He wants also to support SACCOs for the locals to be able to improve household income and savings culture into the people.

He wants to support farmers with improved and modern agriculture methods.

Nebbi district is one of the oldest districts but development has been slow with tarmac in the municipality. Many leaders who take power use Nebbi to get what they want and go. Young districts like Zombo and Pakwach who were phased out of Nebbi are way more developed than their mother district.
