Uganda Musicians Association Invites Public to Join Inter-religious Family Festival 2024
Kampala: The Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) is excited to invite
the public to participate in the inaugural Inter-religious Family Festival 2024, a significant event
celebrating unity, peace, and African cultural heritage.
The festival will take place on 29th June
2024 at Kololo Independence Grounds, Kampala.
The Inter-religious Family Festival is inspired by the ideal of One Family under God. It affirms that all people, regardless of tribe, religion, and nationality, belong to the one human family and are endowed by the Creator with freedom and fundamental rights.
The festival will explore best
practices in interfaith peacebuilding and highlight the power of deep-rooted African traditional family values.
The festival is a collaborative effort among various civil society and governmental entities, including the Global Peace Foundation, Interreligious Council of Uganda, Family Peace
Association, Ministry of Gender, Labour & Social Development, Ministry of Education and Sports, and others.
The event is expected to attract over 20,000 participants, including
international guests, kings, chiefs, religious leaders, parents, teachers, business entrepreneurs, students, and the general community.
Phina Mugerwa Masanyalaze, General Secretary of UMA, emphasized the importance of the festival, stating, “The Inter-religious Family Festival 2024 is a crucial initiative for rebuilding and
strengthening family structures in Uganda. By coming together to celebrate our shared values and heritage, we can foster unity and create a brighter future for all Ugandans.”
The festival will feature a range of activities, including performances by renowned artists, cultural displays, and discussions on interfaith peacebuilding and family values. It promises to
be a day of celebration, learning, and community building.
The Uganda Musicians Association encourages everyone to join this momentous.
