    Kololo Airstrip was painted green on Sunday 18th December 2016 as Kampala kids celebrated annual Green Xmas Party. The party organized by ‘My Kid is a Superstar’ and Uganda’s Little Hands Go Green rocked in a fun filled packed Xmas party.

    Africa’s finest singer Joseph Mayanja aka Dr. Jose Chameleone joined thousands of children with an epic performance in the company of his sons Abba Marcus Mayanja and Alfa Joseph Mayanja.

    The ‘Bayuda’ singer climaxed the event with a massive Green Christmas gift of 1000 fruit tree seedlings to the superstar kids. He received standing ovation from the kids after announcing the gift.

    The singer later joined Joseph Masembe, the brain behind green festival parties and the kids to cut the day’s cake.

    The annual event is organized to celebrate Xmas in Green fashion as a way for teaching children who are the future of the world about preserving and protecting environment and climate.

    It is a reminder to them to spread the green gospel to their families to celebrate the festive season by planting a tree or two back home as a mark to preserve nature this festive season.

    The Green Xmas party was sponsored by NEMA, MilkMan Yoghurt, Standard Chartered Bank Uganda and NBS Television.

    The annual Green Xmas party was another successful do as thousands of kids thronged Kololo Airstrip to celebrate their Christmas party, the biggest for kids in the country yesterday Sunday 18th December 2016.

    The party organized by Uganda’s Little Hands Go Green and My Kid Is A Super Star saw East Africa’s finest Dr Jose Chameleone join the Superstar Green Family with a blockbuster performance with his sons Abba and Alfa as well as a massive Green Xmas gift of 1000 fruit tree seedlings to the superstar kids.

    All sorts of fun and entertainment were in full at the venue and despite weather threatening in the afternoon, the party continued till towards 7pm for the event which kicked off at 9:00am.

    “We Thank You For Your Great Love & Support. May The Almighty Bless You,” organizers said.

    Green Xmas Party2016 was sponsored by MilkMan Uganda, Standard Chartered bank, NBS Television, 106.1 Jazz FM and NEMA.

    Every year the Green Xmas party rocks and this was one of a kid and as they say till next year, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

    Jose Masembe of Uganda’s Little Hands Go Green was among the delegates who represented Uganda at the 6th Conference on Climate Change and Development in Africa in Addis Ababa Ethiopia organised by the United Nations Economic Commissioner for Africa (UNECA).

    “We have come to the end of a very informative Climate Change and Development Conference for Africa held under the auspices of the United Nations Economic commission for Africa (UNECA) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

    Over the last four days we have had discussions on very pertinent topics and an agenda that is dear to me and our continent- on how to take forward the implementation of the Paris Agreement. As we prepare ourselves for the Conference of Parties (COP22) with one African voice, the reflections from this conference will be instrumental in accentuating Africa’s positions for strong action.

    It’s been very clear from the discourse that we need a coordinated and programmatic approach to climate change across the continent. Working in silos or doing business as usual is no longer tenable especially as we grapple with the meager resources at our disposal. We need to leverage and compliment the resources and build on the capacities of all players in the climate change arena.

    I wish all African climate negotiators and scientists a safe travel back to their respective domiciles and look forward to working together on this important agenda for the African continent,” Mungu Amubariki ( God bless).

    Green Festival brings down Kololo Airstrip

    They initiated the idea, perfected it and they know how to play their game! Uganda’s Little Hands Go Green and My Kid Is A Super Star’s organized Green Festival has become a force to reckon on the kids social events in Kampala.

    The now biggest kids’ festival (Green Festival) in Uganda brought the town to a standstill at Kololo Airstrip yesterday Sunday 11th September 2016.

    Thousands of children from Kampala and surrounding districts descended onto Kololo Airstrip from 10:00am to celebrate being young and the environment. The venue was filled to capacity.

    The Green Festival is no doubt the biggest kids’ party with an environment cause in Africa at the moment.

    Event organizer Joseph Masembe sat and thought of an idea to teach the young generation about conserving nature and his idea is the best.

    This is the best way to teach children about the environment and conserving the planet in a fun way.

    “We thought of the way we could teach our Children about the environment because they are number one stakeholders of the environment. We are happy it has gotten to this. The attendance was massive. Thank you everyone who made his here and supported,” Masembe said.

    Children participated in several activities like seeing wild animals, planting trees, swimming, riding camels, singing, dancing, and modeling, among other things.

    Sheebah Karungi as usual did her best with a top notch performance as well as the DJ duo of Slick Stuart and Roja. The festival was sponsored by NBS Television, Standard Chartered Bank, Mirinda, Capital FM among others.

    The 2016 Green Festival preparations are in high spirits and it promises to be the biggest kids’ festival so far this year.

    Masembe who calls himself Superstar General yesterday fired up pupils of City Parents Primary School in preparation to the event.

    The annual Green Festival slated for September 11th 2016 at Kololo Airstrip has embarked on planting 30,000 trees by September before the main event.

    Meanwhile Uganda’s Little Hands Go Green and My Kid Is A Superstar have sealed a deal with television giants NBS Television and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) to be part of this year’s Green Festival. The partnership was signed by Joseph Masembe of Uganda’s Little Hands Go Green, NBS Chief Kin Kariisa and KCCA Executive Director, Jennifer Musisi earlier this week. Entrance to the festival is 10k per kid and free to adults. Gates open at 10am-6pm.
