Hon Hellen Olga Namutamba hails government, Kyabazinga for supporting Kagulu Rock Climbing Challenge as she officially announces this year’s challenge

The Busoga Kingdom Tourism and Heritage Minister, Hon. Hellen Olga Namutamba, held a press conference at Kagulu Rock Heritage Site in Buyende District yesterday to announce the program for the upcoming Kagulu Rock Climbing Challenge on Saturday 17th August 2024.

The event is expected to attract thousands of participants from across Uganda and beyond.

In her address, Hon. Namutamba thanked the Kyabazinga of Busoga for accepting to lead the world to the Royal Rock Climbing Challenge and thanked President Museveni for his financial support, and Rt. Hon Rebecca Kadaga for her trust and support.

She also acknowledged the event’s partners, including Kaynela Agro Tourism Farm, City Paints, Uganda Police, Pepsi, Hill Water, Nile Special, Kyakuwaire Electronics, Skypins Tours and Travel and all the media houses.

Minister informed the general public that event will begin on 15th August 2024 with a Tourism Exhibition, followed by performances from musicians, kickboxers, comedians, a live screening of the Kagoya Lusoga Film and Boxing.

The Grand Finale of Miss Tourism Busoga will take place on Friday 16th, ending with the rock climbing led by the Kyabazinga on Saturday 17th.

The event will also feature the crowning of Miss Tourism Busoga Queens, Miss and Mr. TikTok Busoga and the Busoga Tourism Ambassador.

Health and safety measures are in place, with support from Red Cross, Al-Shafa Modern Hospital, and Whispers Children Hospital. The Busoga North Police have formed a dedicated security team to ensure the safety of all attendees.

The Busoga Musicians and Talents Network has confirmed a three-day performance lineup, ensuring all local talents have the chance to showcase their skills.
