Princess Ruth Komuntale back in the country for Ekyooto Ha Mpango Festival celebrations later this month

Kampala: Tooro Kingdom, together with partners proudly announces the arrival of HRH Princess Ruth Nsemere Komuntale Akiiki from the United States accompanied by her husband Duke Anthony Phil, as she returns to celebrate the momentous 30th coronation anniversary of her brother, Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV. The festival is scheduled from September 10th to 13th, 2025, at the historic Karuzika Palace in Fort Portal.

Princess Ruth, known as the Batebe or Princess Royal of Tooro Kingdom, is a revered figure in Ugandan culture and heritage. Her presence at the Ekyooto Ha Mpango Festival is a significant highlight, emphasizing the importance of cultural revival and community unity.

The festival serves as a platform to celebrate Tooro’s rich traditions, showcasing local music, dance, art, tourism and culinary delights.

King Oyo invites all subjects of Tooro and Ugandans at large to partake in this grand celebration as he will open the palace gates, welcoming everyone to join in the festivities, which promise to be a spectacular display of Tooro’s cultural heritage.
