Singer Lil Pazo Lunabe has chosen to express his grievances towards Phina Mugerwa, the Vice Chairperson of the Uganda National Cultural Center (UNCC), through his music. He has unveiled a new song titled “Sad Story,” in which he criticizes the Bampasudde artist harshly.

It’s important to note that Phina was instrumental in initiating a campaign that prohibited the airplay of Lil Pazo and Gravity Omutujju’s music on local television and radio stations. She also summoned the two musicians to a meeting, which they did not attend. Her efforts were supported by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), which imposed censorship on their songs, preventing them from being played.

In response, both artists have launched tracks that attack Phina. Gravity’s first release, titled “Omukadde Namugerwa,” clearly takes aim at her. Similarly, Lil Pazo seems to have taken inspiration from his previous mentor, releasing his own track called “Sad Story.” In this song, he explicitly criticizes Phina, implying that she is too old and asserting that the current generation should be allowed to live as it sees fit.

Phina has yet to react to the two songs, which contain disparaging remarks aimed at her. Meanwhile, she has threatened to have promoters who support the two artists arrested or denied police clearance. It remains to be seen whether either artist will secure performance opportunities during this festive season.
