    2026 Updates; Hon. Katesh intensifies NRM Mobilisation in Sheema ahead of President’s visit

    Sheema Municipality MP Hon. Kateshumbwa Dicksons who also doubles as the NRM district Chairperson for Sheema District has kick started mobilization of NRM party grassroot structures beginning with Kabwohe Division to prepare for the visit of NRM Presidential candidate H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on 2nd December for his campaign rally. Hon. Kateshumbwa started with Kabwohe Central before heading to Kashozi.

    After Kashozi, he will head to Sheema Central and Kagango respectively. “We are unstoppable,” Hon. Katesh said.

    On top of that, Hon. Katesh is also mobilizing for his own support as the NRM official flag bearer for 2026 elections. He called on the people of Sheema Municipality to keep supporting him for his continued development and effective representation with accountability and excellent service delivery.

    After he was fully nominated as NRM Flag bearer for MP Sheema Municipality seat in next year’s general elections, Dicksons Kateshumbwa said he has a strategy to run a peaceful and clean campaign.

    Mr.Katesh as he popularly known defeated the ‘untouchable’ Hon. Elioda Tumwesigye to NRM flag bearer seat.


    He promised to promote NRM Party ideology and paint Sheema District yellow both politically and developmentally and said he will not listen to negative propaganda. Katesh recently showed how ready he is by launching an online market for Sheema district products.


    “We shall run a peaceful and clean campaign, we shall promote the NRM Party ideology and paint Sheema yellow all the way. We shall not respond to negative malicious attacks and propaganda but rather remain focused. We are NRM this means more.
    Team#Katesh2021,” Katesh said.

    Electoral Commission Successfully Concludes Day One of Nomination of Candidates for Parliamentary Elections

    The Electoral Commission has concluded the first day of the nomination of candidates for Parliamentary Elections 2021.

    The exercise, which is being conducted at nomination centers in all the 146 districts and cities across the country, has so far attracted a high number of aspirants who include party-sponsored candidates and independents.

    In Kampala Capital City, a total of sixty-five candidates were successfully nominated by the close of day one, to contest for Directly Elected Member of Parliament for the nine constituencies in the City. Seven (7) female candidates were nominated to contest for the Kampala City Woman Representative to Parliament.

    Wakiso District had forty-one (41) candidates successfully nominated for Directly Elected Member of Parliament and five candidates nominated to contest for the seat of District Woman Member of Parliament.

    The Commission is conducting the nomination of candidates to contest for the three hundred and fifty-three (353) constituencies for Directly-elected Members of Parliament and the one hundred and forty-six (146) seats for District Woman Representative to Parliament. The nomination exercise will be concluded on Friday 16th October 2020.

    Katesh and team clean up Kabwohe Health Centre

    Sheema Municipality NRM flag bearer for the Member of Parliament (MP) in 2021 General elections, Dicksons Kateshumbwa,  led a team of his supporters and well wishers to clean Kabwohe Health Centre.

    On top of cleaning exercise, he also donated a number of items to the health facility to use over the weekend.


    “Thank you #TeamKatesh and Friends of Katesh for participating in the Community event of cleaning Kabwohe Health Centre and donating some items. Appreciation to Sheema Development Association (SDA) members. Together we shall Make Sheema ‘Neyagayaga’ Again,” Kabwohe Health Centre said.

    Katesh leads in Sheema Municipality race opinion polls

    Former Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Commissioner customs who quit his job for politics is leading in Sheema Municipality opinion polls.
    Dicksons Kateshumbwa popularly known as Katesh is vying for Sheema Municipality Parliamentary seat in 2021 alongside incumbent Hon Elioda Tumwesigye and two other candidates.
    In the polls held on Twitter, Katesh is leading by 88% against Hon. Elioda’s 12%.
    In his manifesto, Katesh wants to restore the pride of Sheema Municipality and develop the area which has become stagnant in terms of development.

    Sheema Municipality MP seat contestant Dicksons Kateshumbwa aka Katesh has picked nomination forms for the NRM primaries.

    Katesh as he popularly known picked the forms  today at NRM offices Kyadondo Nakasero.
    Katesh who recently resigned from his URA job to pursue political career is seen as the favourite to take the seat.
    He is seen by many as a savior for Sheema Municipality in particular and Sheema District in general.
    “Hello team, thank you for all the support. The struggles continues and we must maintain this winning momentum all the way to the Election Day. I have received the nomination forms putting to shame the propaganda machinery that was going round. Heading back to the ground, we must be relentless and up route bad leadership and bad representation.  I think the scores today in NV tell it all. Let’s aim not just at victor but a landslide.     In a bid to help the people of Sheema in this COVID-19 pandemic, Friends of Dicksons Kateshumbwa under their umbrella ‘Friends of Katesh’ donated food items to Sheema Municipality people.

    The food worth millions of shillings is aimed at helping some of the people affected by the COVID-19 lockdown.

    Dicksons Kateshumbwa has also announced his intentions to contest for the Member of Parliament seat for Sheema Municipality under NRM ticket in next year’s general elections.

    Katesh confirmed to this website that he is coming on NRM ticket.

    He said his aim is to restore unity and development in Sheema Municipality.

    Popularly known as Katesh, his coming is seen as a blessing to the area because he is a man who loves Development. Watch the space!!!
