Dancehall heavyweight Beenie Gunter (Crescent Baguma) is igniting 2026 with the release of his powerful new single, “Dreams Can’t Die”, featuring Jamaican dancehall star Dexta Daps. The high-energy anthem premiered Friday, February 20, just three days ahead of Beenie Gunter’s long-awaited full-length album since 2022 entitled, New School Tape Vol. 1, released on February 23.

“This isn’t just another feature record, It’s Africa and Jamaica standing on one rhythm. Dancehall is evolving globally, and this collaboration shows how far the culture has travelled while still honoring its roots,” says Terror Family Productions management Mark Lawrence.

When asked about how this project came together, Talent Africa Group’s Executive Producer “Aly Allibhai stated: From the first demo, we knew this was special. The riddim had an uplifting feeling but still militant.

Executive Produced by Tag Studios in collaboration with Terror Family Productions, “Dreams Can’t Die” marks Beenie Gunter’s first major Jamaica-based dancehall collaboration of 2026, a bold cross-Caribbean and African link-up that reinforces dancehall’s global reach.

Blending infectious rhythms, melodic hooks, and motivational lyricism, the single delivers a message of resilience, ambition, and faith in one’s purpose. Both artists bring their signature styles: Beenie Gunter’s commanding, polished flow pairs seamlessly with Dexta Daps’ emotionally rich, melodic delivery.

Jamaica-based Terror Family Production has a rich history in the dancehall music scene, with a variety of artists and tracks that have contributed to its legacy with the most recent release being Popcaan’s “Feeling Alive (Up Yuhself)” and most popular being Popcaan’s “Survivor” released 4 years ago.

“Dreams Can’t Die” serves as a cornerstone of Beenie Gunter’s latest album, New School Tape Vol .1, a deeply introspective project that explores the duality between struggle and success.

The album chronicles his journey through industry challenges, management transitions in 2024, personal growth, and his evolution as a leading force in Uganda’s dancehall movement.
