British Afroswing collective NSG has touched down in Kampala ahead of their highly anticipated Sounds of the Diaspora concert, set for Saturday, August 22 at UMA Showgrounds, Lugogo.
The group, known for blending Afrobeats, UK rap, dancehall and hip-hop, kicked off their Kampala visit by meeting fans at Club Guvnor on Wednesday, giving them a chance to interact with the artists, take photographs and get a taste of the energy expected at the weekend concert.

The meet and greet offered fans an up-close encounter with the London-based collective before they take to the stage for what is expected to be one of the weekend’s biggest entertainment events.

NSG has built a strong following through its distinctive Afroswing sound, which combines the rhythms of African music with the energy and attitude of UK urban music. Their Kampala appearance is therefore expected to attract both fans of their music and followers of the wider Afrobeats and diaspora sound.

The Sounds of the Diaspora concert will bring together international and Ugandan talent in a celebration of African music and the influence of the diaspora on contemporary sound.

Ugandan acts including Fik Fameica, MUN G, Aaronx and Tojo 256 are lined up for performances, while DJs Alisha, Vanss and Linus will keep the crowd entertained with sets spanning Afrobeats, Amapiano, hip-hop, dancehall and other urban sounds.

The event will be hosted by Viana Indi, Hype Cartel and Pest MC, among others.
For Guvnor Uganda and Bandali Manor, the concert is also an opportunity to strengthen the connection between Uganda’s entertainment scene and international acts, while giving local artists a platform to share the stage with global performers.
After Wednesday’s fan interaction at Club Guvnor, attention now shifts to UMA Showgrounds, where NSG will headline the main event on Saturday.

With an international act at the centre of the lineup and some of Uganda’s popular performers joining the bill, Sounds of the Diaspora is shaping up to be a celebration of how African music continues to travel, evolve and connect audiences across borders.
Tickets are currently on sale, with fans encouraged to secure theirs ahead of the concert.
