Season 2, dubbed the R&B edition, of the event will take place on August 29 at the Sheraton Hotel Gardens, promising an unforgettable night of music, art, and cultural immersion.
The World of Sounds concert series has established itself as a premier platform for showcasing diverse sounds, talents, and music elements. The event focuses on immersions into alternative forms of creative arts and culture, providing unique music and creative experiences for attendees.
The first edition, held on October 6, 2023, at the Kampala Serena Hotel, was a resounding success, featuring a talented lineup of artists.
The inaugural event featured Myko Ouma as the headline act, serenading the audience with his afro-jazz fusion music. The show also included other instrumentalists like such as: Jose Sax, Sewa Sewa of the Janzi, Kenneth Mugabi, Joel Sebunjo among others.
The event also featured pop artites like Apass, Steve Keys, B2C and Maurice Kirya.
But the highlight of the night was when diva Juliana Kanyomozi joined Myko Ouma on stage, performing her monster hits “Sanyu Lyange” and “Diana”. The audience was completely enthralled, with not a single reveler remaining seated.
Now sources close to the event have revealed that an international star is rumored to be performing at the upcoming concert.
While details are yet to be officially announced, fans are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to see their favorite artist take the stage.
The addition of an international act is expected to draw a large crowd of music enthusiasts and fans come August 29 at the Sheraton Hotel Gardens, Kampala.

Myko Ouma a renowned figure in Uganda’s contemporary music, and guitarist together with his band on 3rd September 2024 put up a thrilling performance at the Absa 2024 Pro-Am golf tournament prize giving ceremony at Entebbe Golf Club.
The band started entertaining guests as early as 7:20 pm, and the entertained guests would visibly be seen singing along with the band.
Clad in a white kitenge shirt, kangaroo cap, and black trousers, Ouma at the start of performing said: “Old-school music lovers. Enjoy.”
At the end of the evening, the winners in different categories were announced, and the top ten won the opportunity to play in the 2025 Magical Kenya Open courtesy of Absa Bank Uganda.
Ten slots in the Magical Kenya Open have been made available to the top ten players in the professional and amateur categories that played in the Absa Pro-Am. However, the selected professionals will need to still qualify as per the Magical Kenya Open selection criteria. Any of the slots allocated to professionals that are not utilised will be given to the next best amateur golfers.
In addition, the top three professional winners from the tournament received a total of UGX8 million in cash prizes.
The announcement was made by the bank’s Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer Michael Segwaya. He said:

Renowned contemporary artists Kenneth Mugabi, Myko Ouma, and Ssewa Ssewa are poised to headline the highly anticipated inaugural edition of the Pride of the Pearl concert, set to enchant audiences at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel this July.
The Pride of the Pearl concert stands as a unique musical extravaganza celebrating Uganda’s vibrant cultural tapestry. Scheduled for July 7th, 2024, at the Sheraton Ball Room, the event promises a fusion of traditional and contemporary sounds, embodying the theme of Futuristic African Fusion.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, organizers Soul Events Africa highlighted the concert’s mission to showcase Uganda’s diverse musical traditions through captivating performances and soul-stirring melodies.
Renowned guitarist and composer Myko Ouma pledges an exquisite showcase, promising an unforgettable experience for attendees.
Joining Ouma is Kenneth Mugabi, celebrated for his soulful vocals and acoustic melodies, known for hits like “Nkwegomba,” “Kibun’omu,” “Naki,” and “Under Wraps.”
Completing the trio, Ssewa Ssewa brings his mastery of the Janzi instrument to the stage, blending traditional Ugandan sounds with contemporary flair for an electrifying musical journey.
To ensure an exclusive and luxurious experience, only 30 tables are available for sale at Ugx5M per table, with single tickets also on offer at Ugx500k each.
The performances are scheduled to commence early and culminate just before midnight, promising an evening of unparalleled musical delight.
December is littered with events. But only a few are as revered as Rumble In The Jungle that is happening on 21st December at Kaazi, Entebbe. The mighty return of the exclusive rave in the wild has been received with such enthusiasm amongst the party animals of Uganda.
The organizers, Twaake Events, who are being bankrolled by Silk Events had, up until this week, been tight lipped about the performers at the event. However, during an exclusive phone interview with this website, they revealed and confirmed a list of top notch performers.
While describing the stage experiences, the organizers mentioned that the event will have two stages, The Cove and The Woods.
“The Cove will have mainstream music and performances. While The woods will be strictly for a wild EDM rave. Bebe Cool has been confirmed as one of the headlining artiste of ‘The Woods stage’. And the legendary guitarist Myko Ouma and his band will be serving that slick and exotic sauce they are known for on stage.
Among other people performing at the concert will be the Kika Troupe, Nina Rose, Mwami Kiyimba, Mun G, Roden Y, together with a lineup of renowned Rave DJ’s led by Naselow, Dark Meme, Kiko Dredd, Gilo, Hola Jeffe, AO The Walker, Dj Simon.
The 24 hour party in the wilderness (Rumble In The Jungle Kaazi) will have different facets of experiences, ranging from the exclusive Lake Victoria Shore VIP Lounge that will have it’s own DJ, Bar and Drinks. To The Beach Side rave where revelers get to bask in the sun while they sip on their favorite cocktails, atop playing games in the sand.
The party will also have plenty of accommodation options.
“There will be cottages for people who want to rest. And for those who want to bring their own tents, there will be plenty of camping space for those who want to camp through the night. But we are certain that with the heavy line up of DJ’s, many people would rather party through the night and drive back to Kampala in the morning. We will also have a special space in the wilderness without sound that will be screening the big English Premier League games on huge screens,” explained Thalma.
The highly anticipated Jazz Evening with Johnnie Walker and 106.1 Jazz FM is back for its closing edition of 2016 at Club Guvnor this Friday and will be headlined by guitar maestro, Myko Ouma.
Ouma is a renowned figure in the Jazz and contemporary world of music. After studying Western music at Makerere, he began exploring traditional Ugandan instrumentation.

The multi-talented Myko Ouma can play over 12 musical instruments and he has worked with several big name artistes both on stage and in studio. As the opening act for Kool & The Gang, this comes as a major boost in Ouma’s career who is currently in studio working on a new album. With more than two albums under his name Myko Ouma is certainly destined for bigger things.
He will be joined by Saxophonist Isaiah Katumwa and Hip Hop and R&B group Swahili Nation who will turn up the ante as revelers move to the good vibes before Kool & The Gang take to the stage.

Top Ugandan artistes have been selected to curtain raise at the upcoming Kool & The Gang concert in Kampala on the 12th November at the Kololo Airstrip Grounds.
Jazz sensation and Saxophonist Isaiah Katumwa, guitar maestro Myko Ouma and Hip Hop and R&B group Swahili Nation have been selected to perform at the Kool & The Gang concert.

Powered by Tusker Malt Lager and organised by Talent Africa and Silk Events, the concert will be a 70’s themed dress code event at the Kololo Airstrip Grounds in what will be the biggest disco themed production in Uganda’s history.
Isaiah Katumwa who is no stranger to performing alongside big name artistes, will be looking to lighten up the disco with his Saxophone blares. Being one of the engines behind the continued establishment of Jazz music as one of the leading genres in Uganda, he will be playing to thousands of Jazz lovers at the concert.

Myko Ouma is the other big name artiste who will be bringing his Jazz skills coupled with a touch of contemporary world music to the concert. “It will be a great moment for me. I grew up listening to Kool & The Gang and curtain raising for them is something that was beyond my imagination.” He said.
Sweden-based R&B and Hip hop music group, Swahili Nation, are also set to perform at the concert. Boasting of songs like; “Malaika”, “Nyama”, and “Hakuna Matata” which have earned the group a Channel O Music Awards nomination.
