    Irene Ntale to headline ‘Johnnie Walker Unplugged’ this Saturday at Design Hub

    She has been a little quiet since the beginning of this year, but there’s no doubt she always has her diva’s mojo intact. Her natural performing prowess is always rising higher, and so is her ‘hit’ list. It’s for that reason that songbird Irene Ntale will be headlining this month’s opening leg of the ever-fervent Johnnie Walker Unplugged show, slated for this Saturday March 9th 2019.

    Organized by Fezah Entertainment, Johnnie Walker Unplugged is a weekly live music show held every Saturday at Design Hub, 5th Street Industrial Area. In a studio-like setting, fans get to have an intimate and up-close experience of their favourite Ugandan musicians performing to live instruments.

    Irene Ntale –a song-writer and singer who has managed to develop her own unique sound that’s a cocktail of RnB, Raggae and Acoustic Soul– has already expressed how she simply can’t wait to serve the Unplugged audience the entire list of her popular smash-hits going back several years. Hits such as ‘stamina Daddy’, ‘Nkubukinze’, ‘Sembeera’, ‘Gyobeera’, ‘Love Letter’ and ‘Olindaba’ among others.

    The singer, who likes to strum her guitar while singing, also says she hopes to see her fans from all age groups –the young, middle-aged and older citizens among whom Ntale has been able to score pockets in love with his music.

    As is always the case with Johnnie Walker Unplugged, the show will kick off at exactly 7.pm. Early-bird tickets to the show (purchased at Design Hub during the week) will go for Sh30,000, while at the door on show-day they will cost Sh50,000.  VIP tickets cost Sh00, 000, while a table goes for Sh400,000.

    The other editions of the Johnnie walker Unplugged show this month (March) will feature Sam Kimera (March 16), Michael Kitanda (March 23) and Jackie Akello (March 30).

    Irene Ntale to perform at the Uganda Youth Convention UK

    Star diva Irene Ntale will be among the headliners at this year’s Uganda Youth Convention UK, we can confirm.

    Slated for Saturday, May 26th at Royal Regency Hall, Manor Park in London, the convention is aimed at empowering the youth, promoting education as well as supporting rights and well being of the youth.

    The day’s activities will include workshops, and seminars among others. This will be crowned with entertainment at their after-party where Chameleone and Irene Ntale will entertain the guests alongside comedian MC Kapale among others plus a host of other Ugandan musicians.

    Gates open from 9:00am to 6:00pm then after to the event from theatre till 4:00am.

    Record Label Swangz Avenue has confirmed to us that they parted company with diva Irene Ntale. In a statement released by the label, the two have parted company by mutual consent and wished all the best in her new management. Here is the official statement;

    Swangz Avenue and Irene Ntale have parted company by mutual consent. We would like to bring to record our thanks to Irene Ntale for the hard work, integrity and honesty she put forward during our four years of work.

    All at Swangz thank Irene for her immense contribution since we signed her in March of 2013.

    Her numerous awards and numerous chat topping hits in just 4 years make Irene the most successful female artist in our 9 year history. Irene asked to leave the label and we believe it is in the best interests of both parties.

    Swangz wishes to make clear Irene leaves us on good terms and will always remain a much-loved, respected and significant figure at Swangz. Her legacy at Swangz and the country at large has long been guaranteed and she will always be warmly received.

    Singer Irene Ntale has quit Swangz Avenue, we can confirm. In a statement released by the singer last evening, The ‘Love Letter’ star told her fans and friends that time flies and that after a lot of contemplation, she has decided to quit.

    The singer said her and her record label have both come to an understanding that this is the best move for her to go forward. Her booking are now under Sandra Ntale Byenkya. Below is the singer’s statement announcing her departure;

    “My dearest Fans and friends, they say time flies, and today seems like one of those days when one takes it in stride to announce that after a lot of contemplation, I am officially departing from Swangz Avenue!

    I have made my intentions known to my record label and we have both come to an understanding that this is the best move forward.

    I would like to take this opportunity to thank Swangz Avenue for the knowledge and experience I have gained there. I am truly grateful for the time I have spent with the team along with the musical and professional relationships I have built. I believe both Swangz Avenue and I have enjoyed a remarkable partnership

    Who is Irene Ntale?

    Irene Ntale is a Ugandan singer, songwriter and guitarist. She sings RnB, Reggae and Acoustic soul. She has been hosted on Focus on Africa (TV programme). She is the campaign ambassador for the Red Card to Drunk Driving campaign by Uganda Breweries Limited.

    Early life and education

    Irene Ntale was born on January 30, 1989 to Mr and Mrs George William Ntale. She started singing at school and in the church choir where she also learnt how to play the guitar. She went to Kitante primary school, Kitante Hill School for O-level and Makerere High, now Migadde College, for A-level. She did a bachelor of Procurement and Logistics Management degree at Kyambogo University.
