    Who is Angella Katatumba?

    Angella Katatumba is a Ugandan Singer and Songwriter. She is the daughter of H.E Boney Katatumba, a Ugandan consul to Pakistan. Angella is involved in humanitarian work and has been recognised for it especially for the “Foy you Gulu” project. She was one of the judges of the “airtel-trace music star” competition.

    Angella is a twin and the only daughter among a family of eight children. She went to Katatumba Academy for primary education, then Belmont Senior Secondary School in Victoria, B.C, Canada, where she obtained a Public Relations Diploma. She went to Oxford Brookes University, England where she got a Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Law. She also received a Masters in International Management/Public Relations from the same university.

    Crown Health Care Ltd delivered at Mulago hospital the phototherapy machine and syringe pump bought using Angella Katatumba’s 10m UGX contribution. These machines will save the lives of 60 premature babies every single week at Mulago Hospital.

    Singer Angella Katatumba of the ‘Multiply By Two’ song, through her NGO, ‘The Angella Katatumba Development Foundation (AKDF)’ under the MULAGO YAFFE Campaign personally donated 10 Million UGX to MULAGO HOSPITAL SPECIAL CARE UNIT.

    The money was used to buy a Phototherapy Machine and a Syringe Pump from Crown Health Care Ltd. The MULAGO YAFFE Campaign was launched in 2014 by AKDF in Partnership with Mulago National Referral Hospital.

    The Project is geared towards raising awareness and standards of sanitation and healthcare facility services in Uganda, starting with Mulago National Referral Hospital.

    Angella Katatumba calls upon NGOs, private enterprises, eminent personalities, fellow musicians, socialites and the general public to kindly donate NEW beds, beddings, clothes, cups, plates, basins, sanitizing equipment and other items needed for Mulago. These two machines are estimated to save the lives of at least 60 premature babies every single week at Mulago hospital.

    Musician Angella Katatumba who had a troubled and turbulent marriage at an early age has come up to advise young girls on marriage issues. The singer/song writer, humanitarian, climate change MD Hotel Diplomat and daughter of H.E Boney Katatumba Uganda’s consul to Pakistan, advised young girls not to rush into marriage.

    Angella noted that she believes in love but has no need to rush marriage because of what she experienced when she married an American military man, Alonzo.

    “I believe in love but I am in no rush to get married. Been there done that. I would like to advise all the girls that before you get married, first date for at least one year or two to see whether your personalities meet before you jump into the marriage wagon,” she told a local tabloid in an interview.

    Speaking about her failed marriage, Angella had this to say; “I guess my marriage didn’t work out because I never knew Alonzo so well because we just dated for six months and then rushed into marriage,” she added.

    Meanwhile the singer will be performing LIVE tonight with the Magic Hornz Band, at the UGC&S International graduation ceremony, at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

    Singer Angella Katatumba has continued her humanitarian work with a Shs10m donation to Mulago Hospital.

    She donated the money to Mulago Hospital Special Care Unit today and this is part of her work which she started in 2014. The singer has been giving a helping hand to the needy people because of her good giving heart.

    “Today as part of an ongoing process I began in 2014 to support Mulago Hospital, I donated 10Million Shillings to the Mulago Hospital Special Care Unit. The money will be used to buy needed unique Phototherapy and Syringe Pump Machines that will ensure premature born babies survival. I give all the Glory to God,” Angella said.
