Busoga Tourism & Heritage Minister Hon. Hellen hails Kaynela Agro Tourism Farm, opens doors for domestic & international tourists

The Minister of Tourism and Heritage Busoga Kingdom, Hon. Hellen Olga Namutamba, has lauded the directors of Kaynela Agro Tourism Farm for setting up an incredible place.

She said the farm will be one of the best tourism centres once complete. The minister said this while touring the farm in Nzingu village Kayunga District on the border with Busoga Kingdom on Thursday.

Kaynela Agro Tourism Farm is an agro tourism site built on 200 acres. This farm is situated about 45 km from Jinja town. The farm features various crops, very many unique bird species, cows, goats, donkeys, horses, camels and soon they will have crocodiles, fishing ponds which has most fish species such as Tilapia, Nile Perch, silver fish (Mukene) and other agricultural activities.

Upon arrival, the Minister of Busoga Tourism and her team that included Busoga Tourism queens, musicians, comedians, filmmakers, bloggers, journalists from different media houses, promoters and producers were warmly welcomed by the Kaynela Agro Tourism Farm manager, who took them to a guest house where they were served with milk, fresh yogurt, honey, pineapple juice, banana juice, and other juices from various fruits.

While at the farm, they toured and participated in several activities which included; horseback riding, bicycle riding, camel riding, fishing, quad bike riding, and milking. The fish they harvested were roasted by the team.

In the evening, the minister and her team were treated at the campfire, where they enjoyed goat roasting and entertainment from different musicians and comedians from Busoga Region.

“Tourism, agriculture is the way to go and with such a farm, that offers both relaxation and study activities, it gives us both fronts, you don’t have to travel miles looking for a holiday destination, Kaynela is here, come have fun while you also study,” Hon. Hellen said.

Kaynela Agro Tourism Farm offers both cottages and tents accommodation with cottages from UGX 250k and tents at UGX 70k with breakfast.

The farm is set to host a Food Festival in December this year.
