Two weeks ago, National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) embarked on an expeditious implementation of a water supply stabilisation project to Kiziiba in Nyakyera sub county Ruhaama, Ntungamo district.
This project with a project design population of 8,940, covers the villages of Bituntu, Ogorora, Kahengyere, Kayanga, Kiziiba, Bunyonyera, Nyamambo, Ruborooga, Kishojwa, Kamuhungu, Rukombe, Mpanga, Kyaruhaya, and Rwaziina.
Project update:
16km of distribution mains are complete
💧 5km of transmission mains substantially complete
💧 A pump and generator house complete
💧 100 m3 Water reservoir complete
💧 Booster sump construction in progress
💧 Generators and Pumps under procurement
NWSC is working with the power suppliers to install a 3 Phased hydroelectric power extensions to Kiziiba in Nyakyera.
They have embarked on the installation of public stand pipes to serve the communities in the area.
Expected completion date is 24th May 2019.
