Update on works along Jinja Road-Centenary park by NWSC

National Water And Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has said Sewer mains interconnection works across Jinja road near Electoral Commission-Centenary park have been completed and the contractor is currently reinstating the road.

The vital interconnection works are part of the final sewer mains interconnection works for the new Bugolobi waste water treatment plant, the largest in East and Central Africa that is currently under the testing stage.

The new plant will treat 45million litres of waste water daily and generate over 630kw of power using biogas for use in the plant.

The plant will also help clean Kampala city by diverting and treating waste water from the heavily polluted Nakivubo channel before releasing into the Lake Victoria.

Special appreciation to the contractor Sogea Satom, Uganda Police, KCCA and other stakeholders who worked tirelessly to ensure that the road users are not inconvenienced during the working hours. ( 10pm and 5am.)
