As we look forward to the long awaited fish festival, our reporter has interacted with perfect events the organizers of the big do. Perfect events has assured the city lovers of fish of enough supply for the D-Day. The team is working with restaurants and hotels to ensure fans get value for their money by ensuring different fish species is prepared in different forms say fish pizza, fish fillet, ekibeero, Ekikalayi among other things.
The team is also working hand in hand with the Directorate of Fisheries, Federation for Fish processors and Transporters of Uganda (FFOU), Uganda Fisheries and Fish Conservation Association (UFFCA) to ensure over 100 fish species from all the water bodies of the country including the rare electric fish is exhibited. Fish will be fetched from Uganda’s water bodies including but not limited to Lake Victoria, Lake Albert, Lake Kyoga, River Nile etc for exhibition.
Fish farmers like Go Fish shall also exhibit their fish and shall give funs an opportunity to pick live fish of their interest directly from their aquariums and will be prepared in the desired form.
This was revealed after a meeting between event organisers Perfect Events, Uganda Fisheries and Fish Conservation Association (UFFCA) and the Federation of Fish processors and Transporters Association (FFOU).
