Uganda Police has denied rumours that city tycoon and socialite, Jack Pemba was arrested. Sources yesterday said Pemba was under Police custody.
It was reported last night on some online media houses that the Tanzanian born money bags was arrested on Sunday night as he tried to leave the country at Entebbe International Airport.
Reports say he was being held at Nalufenya Police Station in Jinja. Police Spokesperson AIGP Asan Kasingye said he was not aware of Pemba’s arrest. “I am not aware of Pemba’s arrest. He is not under Uganda Police custody as of now,” he said.
Jack Pemba was spotted partying hard on Saturday night at Cayenne Restaurant and Lounge during Rwanda/Burundi night and then Club Play same night. On Tuesday night, he was also seen partying hard at Fame Lounge and Restaurant on Acacia Avenue, Kampala. When contacted, the tycoon said he wasn’t under custody. “I can’t talk on phone or chat if i am under arrest. Those are false stories aimed at tarnishing my name,” Pemba said.
