Former Kawempe North MP aspirant Hajjat Hanifah Karadi has said patriotism runs deep in her family, tracing back to their grandfather, Late Saidi Rujunduura, who fought in World War II.
She made the remarks on Wednesday during the burial of her brother, Maj. Jaffari Karuhanga.

“My late brother Maj Jaffari was a NASSA Coordinator. He worked hand in hand with NASSA — those are the people who sponsored the NRA, the National Resistance Army. They supported the struggle until where we are standing today,” Karadi said.
“So when you see us in politics, when you see Sophia Kenyangi, when you see Hanifah Karadi and the whole family, we were born patriotic. We are born patriotic for Uganda and for Africa,” she added.

Karadi thanked mourners for standing with the family, noting that such moments provide an opportunity to share their history.
“We thank you so much for coming. We can’t take this for granted. And we pray we stay together, because together for Uganda, together for the continuity of the revolution. Thank you so much,” she concluded.
