I recently had the opportunity to experience the One Stop Border Post within the East African Community at Busia (Uganda–Kenya).
With the establishment of East African Community common market there is free movement of labour, persons, capital, goods and services. This has promoted economic growth and increased trade across borders.
At Busisa, both on entry and exit, the standard of service is truly commendable. Facilities such as toilets are exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and free for all users. No fee is charged. It reflects a level of dignity, efficiency, and respect for travelers. And I think this is what East African integration should look like.

The overall objective of the common Market is to widen and deepen cooperation among the partner states in the economic and social fields for the benefit of the partner states.
Together we can champion regional integration, trade, and free movement.
