Busia: A new wave of patriotic consciousness is rising among Uganda’s young people, especially in Busia District, where Gen Z under the umbrella of Gen Z 4 Gen 7 boldly demonstrated their unwavering support for the NRM presidential flag bearer, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, during his recent campaign trail stop in the area.
As the President camped in Busia, hundreds of energetic and organised Ugandan Gen Z mobilizers turned up not just to cheer, but to declare their place in shaping Uganda’s next chapter. Armed with digital skills, a clear ideological compass, and a firm understanding of Uganda’s journey, these young people emphasized that their loyalty is rooted in facts, history, and national interest not imported confusion from across borders.

Busia Gen Z: “We Are Ready for Uganda’s Qualitative Leap”

Representatives of Gen Z 4 Gen 7 said they are fully aligned with the President’s call for a qualitative leap a phase where Uganda moves from basic development to advanced transformation in technology, industry, innovation, and governance.
They emphasised that this leap requires stability, continuity, and ideological clarity values they proudly associate with NRM.
“Our generation is not just here to make noise online. We are here to defend what works, protect the gains, and push Uganda into its next level of transformation,” one of the Busia Gen Z coordinators stated.

Why Ugandan Gen Z’s Are Protecting the Gains
The Gen Z’s in Busia highlighted key reasons why their support for NRM and H.E. Museveni remains firm:
1. Peace and Stability They Grew Up In
Unlike previous generations, Uganda’s Gen Z has grown up in a peaceful country. They understand that peace is not accidental it is a result of deliberate leadership, strong security institutions, and national unity.
They insist that protecting this peace is non-negotiable.
2. Economic and Infrastructure Progress They Can See
From roads to electricity, schools to health centres, and the expansion of ICT infrastructure, young people recognize the visible growth that has opened doors for jobs, businesses, and innovation.

3. Opportunities in the Digital Era
With Uganda investing in digital transformation, skilling programs, and ICT hubs, Gen Z sees a clear future for themselves something they feel foreign influencers cannot understand or appreciate.
4. Rejecting Foreign-Controlled Confusion
The Busia Gen Z’s strongly criticized the rising trend of ideologically confused Kenyan Gen Z activists who attempt to export chaos, misinformation, and anti-state sentiments into Uganda.
They say Uganda’s youth are too informed, too patriotic, and too aware of their national interests to be swayed by:
• paid foreign activists
• misinformation campaigns
• anti-establishment online movements
“We are not copycats. We are Ugandan. We know our history. We know what instability does. We choose progress, not imported confusion,” another young mobilizer said.
Ready to Secure the Future: Gen Z 4 Gen 7
The Busia Gen Z 4 Gen 7 team vowed to continue mobilizing young people using modern communication digital visuals, podcasts, skits, and relatable content to ensure that Gen Z understands the ideology behind Uganda’s progress.

They pledged:
• to safeguard the gains made over decades
• to counter foreign ideological infiltration
• to rally more youth behind the NRM flag bearer
• to be frontline defenders of Uganda’s stability and transformation
Their message was clear: Gen Z is not a force of disruption but a force of direction. A generation ready to build, innovate, defend, and elevate Uganda.
Conclusion
As the 2026 elections heat up, Busia’s Gen Z have sent a strong signal to the nation:
Uganda’s youth are charting their own direction rooted in ideology, truth, patriotism, and a vision for a stronger Uganda.
They remain firm behind H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and fully committed to steering the country into the awaited qualitative leap.
