Mrs Susan Muhwezi Kabonero, the wife of Maj Gen (Rtd) Hon . Jim Muhwezi has described her husband as a hero, consistent and loyal to the people of Rujumbura, NRM, The president and the entire country. Susan Muhwezi said after her husband’s nomination on Wednesday to contest for the MP Rujumbura Constituency in Rukungiri District on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party ticket.
“Hon. Jim Muhwezi gets nominated as Rujumbura NRM Flag bearer 2026. May God go before you and I declare Victory. You are a hero , loyal to your Constituency, to NRM , to H. E The President and to your Country. You work for peace, Unity and Development. Bless you all,” Susan Muhwezi wrote on her X.
While addressing his nomination rally at Bugangari, Hon. Jim Muhwezi hailed the people of Rujumbura for their support and promised to fulfill his manifesto. He also thanked his opponents in the NRM primaries for pledging to support him.
“I would like to thank my colleagues Mr. Rukanurwa Frank, Mr. Kwesiga Rodgers, and Mr. Kibuka Ambrose, who contested against me for the NRM flag for Rujumbura County. I am pleased to announce that they have subsequently endorsed me as their candidate for our constituency,” Hon. Jim Muhwezi confirmed.
His daughter Ms Samantha Barungi Muhwezi is also full of praise to her dad.
“Eternally proud of you Dad, Hon. Jim Muhwezi. My greatest privilege is to have been raised by a patriot. A man who has always believed in the power and agency of the African. Africa is the end and the beginning,” Ms Samantha Barungi Muhwezi tweeted after the nomination of her dad.
Hon. Jim Muhwezi will now embark on mobilizing support for his quest for the 12th Parliament seat and that of his boss, the NRM Presidential candidate H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
