Denari and Tracy have been evicted from BBNaija season 10

This follows the best week of the season yet The opening credits had not even come on screen yet when Biggie started evicting housemates from Big Brother Naija, in a live episode that saw two fewer housemates in the house by the end of the hour.  That means 17 housemates are now left to duke it out for the life-changing ugx 350 million grand prize.

As Ebuka Obi-Uchendu said: “When you start the show that way, it sets the tone in the house and signals to the housemates that they are in for a ride. So, they better buckle up because Big Brother strikes again – all thanks to your votes.”

First to go was Denari, whose other half in the house Doris was evicted last week. When asked how the house had been without her and about the authenticity of their relationship, he said: “It was hard, I’m not gonna lie. I miss her. And of course, yes, it’s real.” What’s next for him? “Everything entertainment. I’m a good singer, I’m a good actor, I can do this job too that you’re doing now,” he said to an amused Ebuka. “But entertainment generally: I wanna go in there with full force.” Tracy was the next to go, and Ebuka asked her why she said earlier in the week that she was ready to go home.

“The house was mentally exhausting, and I’m not used to such loud spaces,” she explained. “My stay was amazing, there were ups and downs. I had fun, I was so glad I was in this season because even though we’re crazy, we’re also amazing, so I enjoyed myself.” When Ebuka called Tracy’s name to announce her eviction, Zita burst into tears and was visibly distraught.

About their friendship, Tracy said: “We are the same even though we are different in some aspects… I can be who I really want to be with Zita.” In Ebuka’s own words, BBNaija week 6 (themed Soft Life) “was probably the best of the season” – and the triple eviction that kicked it off was just the beginning of a tumultuous yet entertaining week.

From winning the wager to the shocking fake eviction of Dede, Joanna and Rooboy, to thriving ships and heated tensions, there was hardly a dull moment in the 10/10 house. The Most Influential Player of the Week was Faith, for the second time this season. It was a welcome win for him, following his short-lived Head of House reign, which he lost to Thelma Lawson. Ebuka said as HoH, Thelma had contributed to the house being at its most divided, asking why she wasn’t trying to unite the house instead.

Her answer was straightforward: “It’s not my job to bring the house together. We are different personalities – we’re not here to make friends.” Speaking of friends, Ebuka had these closing words to the housemates: “A lot of you are keeping your enemies close. Some of you are keeping your friends far. Just remember, dem say dem say no be evidence.” How will week 7 stack up as we get closer to the finale?
