Bashongoka Mary Kamaduka has set her eyes on representing Older Person’s Western Region in the 12th Parliament on the ticket of NRM party. She confirmed to this website that together with her team she is on the ground mobilizing for support.
On the part of her Manifesto, Ms Kamaduka wants to lobby government to introduce health insurance scheme for the older persons. She also wants to lobby government to reduce the age for accessing SAGE money from 80 years to 75 years as well as lobby for the increase of the monthly SAGE money from 25000 UGX to 50000 UGX.
She also wants convince government to add more money in the elderly SACCOs.
Kamaduka wants to see transparency and accountability in the leadership for the older persons. Kamaduka has already picked up nomination forms for NRM primaries due next month.
