Kira Young Foundation (KYF) Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Hon. Lukwago Jimmy aka Kira Young, has extended a helping hand to families affected by the heavy Saturday night downpour in Kira Municipality.
Lukwago, who is also a prominent businessman and Philanthropist in Kampala, visited several affected villages on Monday, moving door-to-door to console families whose houses and property were destroyed by the floods.
During the visit, he donated an assortment of essential relief items including food, drinks and other basic necessities to help the devastated families get back on their feet.
He further called upon the government, through the Ministry of Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, to urgently intervene and support the affected communities.
The Saturday night heavy rains wreaked havoc across Kira, leaving a trail of destruction with several houses submerged, household property destroyed and cars damaged.
“As Kira Young Foundation, we could not just sit and watch our people suffer. We decided to reach out and share the little we have with our brothers and sisters in this difficult time,” Hon. Lukwago Jimmy noted.
Residents applauded Hon. Lukwago Jimmy for his continued philanthropic gestures towards the people of Kira Municipality.
