2026 Updates: Hajji Norman Semwanga Kaboggoza’s journey to the National Unity Platform (NUP)

Hajji Norman Semwanga Kaboggoza is set to contest for the Mayoral seat for Kira Municipality come 2026 under National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket. He is set to give the current Mayor Mutebi a bloody 2026 race.

He joined NUP in 2020 after leaving NRM for the reasons he shared with the media platforms but 3 of his big reasons for leaving NRM were; Impunity of the ruling government, too much corruption in almost all senior government offices & Parliament and Overstay in power of President Museveni.

He started being very active when he joined NUP leader Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine in the by elections in Bugiri where he had to fund comrades who wanted to join the ongoing exercise.

He was also instrumental in Kayunga where he has a Hotel as one of his businesses and he offered the hotel to NUP comrades who came to help in the by elections of Hon. Nakwedde Harriet Kafeero.

He offered them free services like Accommodation, Breakfast, lunch and supper.

He kept very active in NUP activities by visiting detained NUP supporters in Kitalya, Luzira & Kigo Prisons with essential needs and stood firm with the children of those in prisons and the missing (18) by donating scholastic materials like Books, Pens, Pencils, MP Pads, sets and many more at start of each year.

He has also been donating essential needs to families of each of the NUP supporters in prisons and those missing with Rice, Posho, Sugar and Soap and offering them words of hope and encouragement.

Hajji Norman Semwanga has now hit the ground mobilizing for support ahead of the ballot battle for Kira Municipality Mayoral seat come 2026. His team is already working hard and has also been reaching out to people supporting their activities as part of his quest for support.
