What you need to know about Amunyang Betty, the lady vying for Moroto District Woman MP seat 2026

Ms Amunyang Betty, 37, is an experienced social worker, mother, mentor and politician who has announced her intentions to contest for Moroto District Woman MP seat come 2026.

Education
Ms Betty holds a Bachelors Degree in community resource mobilization from Global University of California, Diploma in Social Work and Administration from Makerere Business Institute,
Certificate in Social Work and Administration- from Fountainhead Institute of management and Technology,
Certificate in project planning management from Social Institute Lira campus, Diploma in Theology from Jinja Seminary and Certificate in Theology from Moroto Pastors Training Center.

Work experience
She worked in Mercy Corps as Administration Assistant,
Worked in compassion funded project as project Director, Activities on the ground where she does a lot of charitable work.

She supports several children by sponsoring them from nursery to the university and has close to 357 children.

She supports breastfeeding mothers (60), people living HIV with supplementary food, supports communities in drilling boreholes, supporting communities in agriculture tools training skills, and some times she in distribution of food and clothes to the needy.

She also supports business skills and funds some women in money making business as well as training parents and the youth in practical skills like soap making, bakery, tailoring.

Hon. Betty is also the Director of Ebenezer Nursery and Primary School in Moroto.

She is also a pastor and hopes to contest on NRM Party ticket.
