Fresh Dairy Marketing Manager, Vincent Omoth has revealed details about the newly launch Brookside Fruit Yoghurt. Full interview is below;
1. Fresh Dairy recently announced a new entrant to its yoghurt family, briefly tell us about the new addition?

The new entrant to Fresh Dairy’s yoghurt family is Brookside Fruit Yoghurt, which comes in four flavours: Pear Caramel, Lemon Biscuits, Strawberry and Vanilla. It is packaged in 100gm, 150gm, 250gm and 450gm cups only.

2. What makes Brookside Fruit Yoghurt unique from other products on the market?

Brookside Fruit Yoghurt contains real fruit and does not have preservatives or artificial additives. The combination of Yoghurt and Fruits which are both nutrient-rich foods gives consumers a blend of nutrients to include Vitamin A, B, C, D, E, Calcium and Potassium among others, making the new Brookside Fruit Yoghurt, a healthy and nutritious choice.

3. Why did Fresh Dairy introduce Brookside Fruit Yoghurt at this particular point in time?

The introduction of Brookside Fruit Yoghurt has been informed by robust research and a desire to meet the ever-increasing consumer needs for variety through product innovations. In today’s world, consumers are looking for nutritious food choices, of which the new Brookside Fruit Yoghurt offers both healthy and nutritious benefits.

4. Is the Brookside Fruit Yoghurt locally made in Uganda?

Yes, the Brookside Fruit Yoghurt is locally produced at our Kampala factory and is 100percent processed using milk sourced from our Ugandan farms.  Brookside is simply a brand name that emanates from our company – Brookside Limited.

5. What is Fresh Dairy’s current yoghurt production capacity?

Last year, Fresh Dairy installed a fully automated yoghurt plant worth an investment of 1.4 Million dollars with a capacity to handle 80,000 litres of Yoghurt daily. The new yoghurt plant uses IML technology which enhances Fresh Dairy’s products’ security features to curb counterfeits. This is the same technology that we use to process and pack the popular Fresh Dairy Flavoured Yoghurt which consumers enjoy for its thickness, aroma, flavours and natural taste of yoghurt.

6. Who is the target audience for the Brookside Fruit Yoghurt?

The Brookside Fruit Yoghurt is for everyone in need of a nourishing delicious snack fully loaded with nutrients.

7. What is the recommended retail price for the Brookside Fruit Yoghurt and where can one find it?

The recommended retail price for the 450gm is 4,200 Ushs, 250gm is 2,400 Ushs, 150gm is 1,700 Ushs and 100gm is1,100 Ushs. The Brookside Fruit yoghurt can be bought countrywide from shops, duukas, kiosks and supermarkets near you.

8. What is the implication of launching the new Brookside Fruit Yoghurt to our local farmers?

The addition of the new Brookside Fruit Yoghurt onto our product line implies that we have increased on the local uptake of raw milk from our farmers. Fresh Dairy currently works with over 30,000 small and large local farmers from whom we source all the milk used in our products. At Fresh Dairy, we believe that good quality milk products are made from good quality milk. We have therefore invested in stringent milk testing procedures both upstream and downstream to ensure that we use high quality milk in all our products.

9. Lastly, other the new Brookside Fruit Yoghurt, what other products does Fresh Dairy produce?

Fresh Dairy also produces Fresh milk, flavoured milk, Long life or UHT milk, powdered milk, flavoured Yoghurt, Butter, Ghee and Cream.
