Vibrant Holi Celebration Lights Up KCCA Grounds in Kampala
The KCCA Grounds in Kampala were ablaze with the vibrant hues of Holi as the Rajasthani Association, in collaboration with the Indian Association of Uganda, joined hands with the Indian High Commission, Uganda, and Kansai Plascon to orchestrate a jubilant Festival of Colors, attracting a crowd of over 5000 revelers from diverse backgrounds.
Holi, an ancient Hindu festival symbolizing the victory of good over evil and the advent of spring, served as a testament to the rich cultural tapestry of the Indian Community, uniting people in a spirit of diversity and harmony.
Children and youth immersed themselves in the festivities, gleefully splashing colored powders known as ‘gulal,’ while adults adorned each other’s faces with vibrant dry pigments called ‘abir,’ fostering bonds of friendship and merriment. The air was filled with the aroma of delectable Indian delicacies, adding to the festive ambiance.
A highlight of the celebration was the eagerly anticipated raffle draw, where fortunate winners walked away with coveted prizes, including TVs and a return ticket to Mumbai, India. Plascon’s Brand Manager, Daniel Kayongo, presided over the prize-giving ceremony, expressing his enthusiasm for supporting community-driven initiatives.
Reflecting on the partnership and the significance of Holi, Daniel Kayongo remarked, “Plascon Uganda takes immense pride in contributing to the vibrant celebration of Holi, a joyous occasion that epitomizes unity and happiness. We are dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve, and events like these offer a wonderful platform to do so.”
“Our collaboration with the Rajasthani Association and the Indian Association of Uganda underscores our commitment to fostering meaningful connections within the community,” Daniel added, emphasizing Plascon’s dedication to promoting unity and cultural exchange among its customers.
