Uganda’s Veteran TV News Anchor, Francis Bbale Is Dead

Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) Public Relations Officer, Jane Kasumba, confirmed that Bbale died Thursday morning around 10.30 at the Uganda Cancer Institute, Mulago.

Kasumba said Bbale had been stable and was undergoing treatment but his doctors recently referred him for further treatment in India. Bbale was supposed to go to India in May this year.
She said they were still processing his travel to India but he died suddenly. Kasumba said Bbale was in charge of the training unit of UBC, and was particularly in charge of training young talent in news anchoring.
He has worked for UBC (formerly UTV and Radio Uganda) for over 25 years. His body was still at Mulago. Kasumba said they were still getting working with the family for further details of his burial.
“His death has been a big blow and loss to us,”
