Uganda’s best farmers flown to Netherlands
dfcu Bank flagged off the top contenders in this year’s edition of the Best Farmers’ initiative. This event took place at the bank’s main offices on Kyadondo Road, Nakasero.
Farmers are going to represent Uganda in the Netherlands and hope to come back with great knowledge about farming. The farmers promised to do their best and make their country proud. The farmers said this at an evening dinner organized by Dfcu Bank on Thursday evening.
“We are going to learn more about farming also find solutions to our problems and also do better,” said the farmers.
Dfcu bank has flagged off a team of about 11 farmers who participated in the competition. Dfcu Bank hosted some of the farmers to a workshop before their planned departure to the Netherlands on Thursday afternoon.
“I have confidence that the athletes will do well, considering the training they have been undergoing for the last one and half months. While in the camp, we have been working as a team and we believe there is still an opportunity for growth and success,” explains Ssempijja BamulangakiVincent, the Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries.
His explanation was further backed by the Dutch Ambassador, Henk Bakker, who noted that the team was fit and that they were ready to show the world “what they were about.”

Dfcu bank through its sponsorship of several calendar activities hosted the farmers as part of the send-off. According to Miss Rukia Otems, said the partnership with Dfcu bank has been ongoing as well.
“We wish you well in the Netherlands and we hope for good results. We are backing you 100%. You are on the world stage and this is an opportunity for you to shine. We do hope that these studies translate into your personal success,” Otema told the farmers.
