Ugandans mourn fallen showbiz star Ivan ‘The Great’ who passed on at Steve Biko Hospital

Thousands of Ugandans have taken to the social media to mourn the passing on of one of Uganda’s showbiz heroes, Ivan Semwanga aka Don. The Rich Gang boss based in South Africa died last night at Steve Biko Hospital in Pretoria, South Africa under where he has been receiving from for the last 12 days.

Zari Hassan, his ex-wife who has been taking care of him confirmed his demise in the wee hours of Thursday morning describing him as Ivan ‘The Great’. Ivan has been on a life support machine after he suffered a stroke last week. No visitors were allowed to visit him by the time of his demise. The tycoon has been in for 11 days.

Famous for his spending power and throwing Rich Gang parties in Kampala during Christmas season, Ivan changed the face of Ugandan social scene. He will be dearly missed. Ivan, 39,  has left behind three sons and will be buried at his ancestral home in Kayunga.

“God loves those that are special and that’s exactly who you were & I guess that’s why he wanted you to himself. You have touched and helped thousands, you did wonders and I remember you telling me “life is too short Zee let me live it to the fullest”, this very dark hour it makes sense why you always said those words to me. To your sons, you were a hero-some kind of superman. Anyone who has ever been in your presence knows what a charming person you were. You will be missed and remembered in so many ways. You were IVAN THE GREAT,” Zari posted after his ex hubby’s demise.
