Topowa Youth Mentoring Uganda Inspires Nabisunsa Girls To Say “No” to Substance Abuse
On 4th October 2024, Topowa Youth Mentoring Uganda, an organization dedicated to empowering youth and addressing the growing issue of drug and alcohol abuse, held an impactful event at Nabisunsa Girls School.
The packed auditorium was filled with excitement as students actively engaged with enthusiastic mentors, eager to confront one of the most pressing challenges facing young people today—substance abuse.
Topowa’s session was more than just a lecture. It was an interactive, eye-opening experience featuring candid conversations, a dynamic Q&A session, and a gripping drama performance that vividly portrayed the dangers of drugs. The students were urged to make informed decisions and take control of their futures by saying “NO” to harmful substances.
“It was such an empowering experience,” one student remarked. “I feel more confident now in standing up against peer pressure.”
The event wasn’t only about raising awareness within the school, but also about inspiring broader community change. By encouraging students to become role models, Topowa is creating a ripple effect of positive influence that could shape a healthier, drug-free generation.
Topowa Youth Mentoring Uganda’s campaign is just beginning, with more schools across the country set to take part in their nationwide movement for change!
