Dr. John B. Niwagaba, the Auto Show Chairman announced that preparations for the Uganda Vintage and Classic Auto Show 2015 are underway. The Sheraton Kampala Gardens will once again play host to a fabulous display of our country’s history through Vintage and Classic Cars on Saturday 25th July 2015. It will be preceded by a Snail Trail of the participating Cars through the streets of Kampala on Friday 24th July 2015 (Eve of the Show). Gates will open at 10am. The Cost of Entry will be 10,000/= per person.
Cars as old as 25 years and above are the only ones allowed to showcase
Since its inauguration in 2012, the show has gained increased interest and enthusiasm among Ugandans and foreigners. This year’s event promises to be explosive!! Cars that will be showcased will be 25 years and older. Cars from Kenya and the rest of East Africa are expected to compete in the competition. We have increased the number of prize categories to increase the winning prospect for competing Cars. There will be Performances by local artists. Car Enthusiasts will be treated to a day full of enjoyment and entertainment. The newest feature of the show is the Auto Expo (New Car Slots where Car Companies exhibit their latest models).
Germany’s Auto Bild, the world’s most circulated Car Magazine which sells approximately 19 million copies each issue will be covering the show and profiling some of the participating cars and their owners.
The show will be judged by five (5) Judges, three (3) from the Alfa Romeo Club, the organizers of the Concours d’Elegance in Nairobi, and two (2) from the Automobile Association of Uganda (AAU). Mr. Bob
Dewar, the Chairman of the Concours d’Elegance Organizing Committee will be the Chief Commentator at this year’s event.
Registration of participating cars will be carried out up to 10th July 2015.
The Uganda Vintage & Classic Auto Show encompasses Uganda’s history and heritage is endorsed by Uganda Tourism Board, the Automobile Association of Uganda (AAU) and Kenya’s Concours d’Elegance.
