The amazing Kampala-Entebbe Expressway!

Kampala–Entebbe Expressway is not the usual road you see in Uganda. Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) said the road works are at above 75% and set to be complete by the end of this year. The four lane road is fitted with Anti Glare screens. Their role is to protect road users/motorists in different directions from light interference.

Then there is a pick of Kajjansi interchange. Here we found workers beautifying the place with green vegetation. The preparation for beautification at the Kajjansi Interchange looks amazing and it will add flair to the road.

Beautification at Kajjansi Interchange is ongoing

Beautification increases driver alertness on the road?  Now we have an interesting component of road safety along the Expressway. Moreover this also ensures that the soils are protected from erosion- a component of environmental restoration/conservation,” UNRA.

The road also boasts of the longest bridge in East Africa, Nambigirwa Bridge measuring to 1.45km. The road is being constructed by China Communications Construction Company (CCCC).

CCCC acting Country Manager, Zheng Biao said different features like the interchanges, Anti Glare screens and the Nambigirwa Bridge have added to the beauty of the road. “When you look at features this road has, they are amazing and you don’t find them anywhere on any other road in Uganda,” he added.
