Television queen Winnie Success has quit Urban TV for Spark TV, we can confirm.
She is now co- presenting “Spark Ku Makya” from Monday to Friday 6:00am to 9:00am. She started work at her new station this week on Monday.
She told this website that she is excited and honored to be part of Spark TV family.

Efrance Nakitto aka Effy is faster becoming a television personality to watch out for in Kampala.
Effy is the brightening Urban TV screens during Rush Hour, the show which airs from 6:00am to 11:00am alongside Miles Rwamiti and Sharlotte.
The entrepreneur has put her emphasis on building Television career to her name too. She started with Light House Television before scooping a juicy job with Urban TV of Vision Group.
She is also into Beddings and interiors and runs Cozy Interiors.

Television personality Efrance Nakitto, who co-hosts ‘Rush Hour’ with Miles Rwamiti on Urban TV has given birth to twins (boy and girl) months after going off air to prepare.
Efrance Nakitto who recently got engaged to her lover who we are yet to identify is now a mother of three.
Nakitto is one of the hottest bootylicious television queens in Uganda that have caused endless scrotal eruptions amongst several city dudes over time.
Before she joined Urban TV, Nakitto, who is a staunch Savedee, was formerly working for LTV, a media house with a Pentecostal setting.

The couple of Sheilah Carol Gashumba and Gods Plan aka Marcus recently protested against Urban TV’s ‘Scoop on Scoop’ program through their hashtag #StopCyberBullying.
First the show went for an unprepared for break citing re- strategizing. However, UCC in a statement today had not only banned the program nut the entire station for the same reasons.
“Accordingly, the Commission initiated investigations in accordance with sections 5(1)(b), (x) and (j), 31 and 45 of the Uganda Communications Act 2013. To facilitate the investigations, Urban TV was asked to submit a written representation in response to the complaints, and to submit recordings of the programme for the period May 1 – 20, 2020.
Urban TV was also to provide proof of certification and registration of the producer and the host of the programme, in accordance with sections 5 and 27 of the Press and Journalist Act, Cap. 105.” part of UCC statement read.
This implies that Sheilah Gashumba and boyfriend had right cause of campaign and have saved several other victims who had ignored the program amd station.
Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has suspended a programme airing on Urban TV after several viewers complained about its content that was deemed offensive and scandalous.
Although the Commission has since learnt from social media that the programme Scoop on Scoop is currently off air, the regulatory due process, which was already in motion, continues. UCC first received complaints about Scoop on Scoop in May 2020, and accordingly wrote to Vision Group on May 25, 2020, seeking an explanation, including information on the qualifications of the staff behind it.
However, Vision Group didn’t comply as directed, prompting the UCC Ag. Executive Director Irene Kaggwa Sewankambo to suspend the programme as investigations commence.
In her letter of May 25, 2020, Ms Kaggwa Sewankambo said the Commission had received complaints to the effect that the content and nature of Scoop on Scoop airing on Urban TV violates the Minimum Broadcasting Standards as enshrined in the Uganda Communications Act 2013. The complainants had explicitly alleged that during the month of May 2020, Scoop on Scoop featured content that was “abusive, demeaning and inciting; opinionated and not attributed to any reliable source.”
Accordingly, the Commission initiated investigations in accordance with sections 5(1)(b), (x) and (j), 31 and 45 of the Uganda Communications Act 2013. To facilitate the investigations, Urban TV was asked to submit a written representation in response to the complaints, and to submit recordings of the programme for the period May 1 – 20, 2020.
Urban TV was also to provide proof of certification and registration of the producer and the host of the programme, in accordance with sections 5 and 27 of the Press and Journalist Act, Cap. 105.
In response, Vision Group wrote to the Commission on May 29, 2020, stating that the complaint had been forwarded to its Human Resource Department for disciplinary proceedings. Vision Group enclosed DVDs of the programme, but neither made representations on the complaint as requested nor provided evidence of the producer and the host’s qualifications.
“Once the process is completed we shall advise on the outcome,” the Vision Group letter stated.
Consequently, and following further complaints about the same programme, the Commission decided to act. In her letter of June 30, 2020, to Vision Group, the UCC Executive Director pointed out that Urban TV had not complied with the Commission’s directives.

“The Commission notes with concern that other than generally stating that Urban TV had subjected the said complaint to your internal processes, your response of May 29, 2020, did not comply with the Commission’s directives as indicated in the letter of May 25,” the Executive Director wrote.
Ms Kaggwa Sewankambo further noted that in addition to not complying with the Commission’s directives, the TV station had continued to air the same programme, in the same manner, leading to other complaints, including one dated June 24, 2020, from M/s Balondemu & Co. Advocates.
In their complaint, Balondemu & Co. Advocates alleged that Urban TV had in the past three weeks used Scoop on Scoop to broadcast “false, offensive, scandalous and harmful content” against their clients Ali Marcus Moses Sempija and Ms Sheila G. Gashumba.
The programme is to remain suspended until Urban TV has satisfactorily demonstrated to the Commission that Scoop on Scoop “has sufficient controls to avoid the risk of breaching the Minimum Broadcasting Standards and the rights of other members of the public.”

Besides, the TV station is required to comply with the Commission’s directives issued earlier on May 25, 2020, and to submit recordings of the programme for the period between June 1-26, 2020.
The UCC Executive Director warned that Urban TV risks “other appropriate regulatory sanctions” if the station doesn’t adhere to the aforesaid directives. Sanctions available to the Commission in the event of failure to comply include suspension of the station’s broadcasting license.
Devastated Media personality and socialite Martha Kay who was supposed to appear on Urban Tv today (Friday) called off the show after her nude pictures were leaked to social media.
Martha was due to be hosted on Urban Tv’s evening show dubbed ‘KlaSsic’ but after her nude photos scandal, she cancelled out the appearance.
The comedienne has not yet officially come out to comment on the pictures which are likely to land her into Police investigation.
Radio personality Bryan Sabiiti McKenzie is back to television faces, we can confirm. The Bugolobi based Radio City duo presenters will be presenting Urban Today from 7am – 9am from Monday to Friday. The two started their new adventure today morning.

SU: Tell us who is Sheila
Sheila: Sheila Salta aka Miss Salta was born in Denmark at Hividore Hospital in 1992 to Mr. Peter Saltoft and Ms Sophear Matovu. My mother is Ugandan while my father comes from Denmark. Sheila was a happy and active child always dancing and singing. While in high school at the of age 13 Sheila got an offer to work on Ugandan TV, and after her first episode, people saw her power as a public figure, now 10 years down the line many episodes, shows, parties and event she is now concentrating on filming her new series of “Hanging out with Salta” that will host several celebrities and take a look at their lives. Miss Salta had been making an appearance on stage as MC to many events like Buzz Teen Awards, Mirinda Miss Teen, Masaka Street Jam,,, Sheila is a cool and stylish girl, who is not scared of being involved with extreme activities like bike riding and water sports in Entebbe where most of her friends and click stay and hangout, she loves to party and swim in her free time, she has had interests in body art lately, she has a beautiful chest tattoo from Kla_ink, her shout outs go to Team Entebbe, Kla ink, her glamour girls and her mom who lives in Denmark and who is also her best friend. And of course her 2 year old son Liam who is there every day to put a smile on my face and give me a reason to work harder and stay at the top where I am now.

SU: How do you find TV career?
Sheila: When I moved to Uganda in 2002 for my studies, I picked an interest in a show on WBS called TEENS CLUB, I used to watch that show every Saturday. I used to tell myself that I can do better and I think it would be fun presenting so one day during my P7 vacation I told my mother am bored and I want to work, she asked me “what do you want to do?”, I said “I want to be a TV presenter on TEENS CLUB”. My mother apparently had connections and she hooked me up with an interview next couple of days. I must say I was nervous since there were other teens lining up but I decided to just be me and I nailed it. Next thing you know, I was asked to start immediately. I find TV career very competitive, you must be very informed, in style and you must have people’s attention, you must be very hardworking too. I like to be innovative, try to find something new and fresh for my viewers so I always come up with TV show ideas like Back Stage Pass on Urban TV, is a show that I am proud to have made. It’s fun though, meeting new people every day, going to places and knowing information that most people seek for or don’t know. This is the career that I chose and it ended up choosing me too. SU: Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
Sheila: Five years is a long time, lol, I care a lot about life, that’s why I will enjoy it every day, I love food and hanging out at the spa so opening my own hotel with a restaurant and a spa would be my dream come true, so I can drink champagne in my bubble bath every day. I believe I will be a very wonderful independent mother.

SU: Tell us about your love life?
Sheila: My love life,, I have a boyfriend, Maxim, he is from Belgium, no not Maxime van Pee the motor crosser champion, although they were in the same school but he has grown up from here, he’s amazing, he is also into tattoos like me, Jose Chameleone is like an uncle to him cause Jose’s former wife was also Belgian and that is how they met when Max was young, so you might see him working with Jose a lot. He is also the tour manager of Peter Miles and has designed a few videos for him, in other words a little bit of a bad boy but I like that lol, am happy. That’s what matters.

SU: What message do you have for those hoping to join television career?
Sheila: Don’t be scared of people that have more experience, don’t be scared to go ask for an interview especially when you believe you are good and you can never know you are good until you try. Be persuasive with your words and your talent. Be straight and wise and don’t forget to smile cause they are watching you;-)
