    Young, promising and exciting model Sharon Kiyimba Promise was the star as she walked the runway at the 2021 Janzi Awards.
    The inaugural edition of the Janzi Awards happened in a two day event from Saturday 11th to Sunday 12th December, 2021 at Kololo Independence Grounds.
    Several Ugandan personalities walked home with accolades at the awards which seek to honour and celebrate excellent work of Uganda’s Creative and Arts Industry.
    Among the several models that walked the runway to showcase for different fashion designers on the day was Sharon Kiyimba Promise signed under Top Model Uganda.
    Sharon joined other models who were selected by Joram Muzira of the Joram Model Management agency for the showcase.
    This comes just a few months after Sharon and her mentor Doreen Kabareebe were honoured at the recently concluded 2021 International Photo Arena (IPA) awards in Ghana.
    Sharon was honoured as the Best Outstanding Upcoming African model while Doreen was honoured as the Best African International Model at the IPA awards.
    Who is Sharon Kiyimba Promise
    The mesmerizing young was born  on 28th November, 2003, in Masindi.
    Her modelling career professionally started in 2020 and progressing on well.
    Raised by a single mother Rebecca Kiyimba, Sharon attended Victor’s Junior Christian School for her primary level.
    She is currently attending high school at Exodus College School Wakiso pursuing a combination of Math, Entrepreneurship and Economics (MEE /ICT).
    Sharon was inspired into modeling career by Doreen Kabareebe when they met at Kwillz Fraternity where Doreen was the guest of honor.
    Sharon remembers asking Doreen to hold her hand and guide her through her modeling journey, something the latter has done with ease thus far.
    For guidance, Doreen is always in constant touch with Sharon’s mother who is currently working in Turkey.
    On 28th September, 2020, Sharon Kiyimba Promise joined fashion modeling from Black Array Agency in Katwe.
    On 26th December, 2020, She worked with Kwillz Fraternity at the Seasonz Fashion Week official premiere.
    On 22nd May 2021, Sharon Kiyimba participated in the Top Model Uganda Auditions where she was the first contestant and got a “YES” from all the three judges; Doreen Kabareebe, Sylvia Namutebi Alibhai, and Flash.
    Sharon has recently been nominated in the UG Teen Awards under the category of Best Female Model. The awards are due for this Sunday 20th December 2021.

    Doreen Kabareebe, Sharon Kiyimba Promise win big at Ghana’s IPA Awards

    Celebrated super model Doreen Kabareebe continues to star at international level. Alongside the promising model Sharon Kiyimba Promise, Doreen was honored at the International Photo Arena (IPA) awards in Ghana.
    IPA Awards is a scheme that aims at recognizing, appreciating, and celebrating the hard work of photography-oriented careers across the world.
    Personalities whose works define and promote tourism, art and culture are appreciated with Honoree awards.
    Last Friday Doreen Kabareebe and Sharon Kiyimba Promise waved the Ugandan flag as they received their Honoree awards from Ghana based awards.
    Kabareebe was honoured as an International Outstanding Model at the International Photo Arena awards in Ghana.
    She was recognised for her exceptional impact that has changed the idea of modeling and how she has encouraged and groomed younger models.
    “Your desire to make a global impact and change the narrative of who a model should be is so overwhelming
    Your quest to make a difference and encourage the young ones must by all standards be celebrated. Well done for the great achievements so far, your legacy will forever live”.
    IPA Awards
    The Kabareebe Models 4 Charity CEO was again overwhelmed by one of the models under her management who was also honoured at the same awards.
    Sharon Kiyimba Promise, a 17-year-old Ugandan fashion model, was also recognised as an International Young Model Achiever.
    “You have chosen this path among many careers because of the drive and love you have for it, so far in your endeavors, you have already caused great impacts by inspiring others to join you and that’s a good start. Congratulations on your achievements so far,” said IPA about Sharon.
    IPA seeks to bring out the innovative and creative abilities of individuals communicating through photography while appreciating and celebrating their hard work.
    Over the years, photography has been given less attention in many parts of the world, if not most, but Africa has the least attention.
    Photography is the ultimate tool that leaves a trail for posterity to follow and learn as well. It is one of the few communication tools that delivers, with ease, the true intent of a thought or an event.
    Since the beginning of IPA Awards in 2018 to-date, the awards have had nominees filed from various countries including Australia, Ghana, Cameroon, Nigeria, Tanzania, Togo, Benin, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States, Iran, and India.
