    Ankole Diocese joins Save River Rwizi Marathon 2024 drive

    The Bishop of Ankole Diocese Rt. Rev. Associate Professor Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa has confirmed that the Diocese has joined the drive for Save River Rwizi Marathon 2024 and will be physically participating in the upcoming event.

    The Save River Rwizi Marathon organized by Abahumuza Development Group is scheduled for Sunday July 28th 2024 at Mbarara Golf Course starting at 7:00am.

    The Bishop on top of rallying the masses to embrace the #SaveRiverRwiziMarathon24, he urged government agencies responsible for environmental protection to deliver on their commitments.

    “We express our heartfelt gratitude to the men of God for joining this noble cause, demonstrating their commitment to environmental stewardship and community well-being,” Mr. Seth Murari said.

    He called on the general public particularly those in Mbarara and the surrounding areas to all strive to participate, as River Rwizi is a vital source of water for many, supporting livelihoods, agriculture, industries, hotels and more.

    Remember, water is life! Together, we can make a difference and ensure a sustainable future for our planet.

    Running kits are already available at selected shops in Mbarara at only 20k per kit.

    Abahumuza Development Group rallies support for Save River Rwizi Marathon

    All is set for the annual Save River Rwizi Marathon 2024!! The marathon is organized by Abahumuza Development Group as they aim at saving the only water source in Mbarara.

    The Chairman Abahumuza Development Group Mr. Seth Murari has confirmed to us that the Marathon is slated for 28th July 2024 at Golf Course Booma Grounds Mbarara City.

    “This is a call for us all to save our Mighty River Rwizi for the present and future generations. I call upon the general public to join us for this good cause. We all need the environment to survive, and Abahumuza are thus calling on everyone for the #SaveRiverRwiziMarathon24 on the 28th July at Booma Grounds,” Seth Murari said.

    All the proceeds from this marathon will go towards the restoring the Rwizi catchment to steer social and economic development within the region.

    Seth Murari lauds the success of Mbarara City Motor Rally

    The National Coordinator in charge of Sports and Games in the office of the National Chairman of NRM, Mr. Seth Murari, has praised the people of Mbarara for showing hospitality during the recently concluded NRC Mbarara City Rally 2024.

    He also appreciated fellow organizers at MCRC and MPU for the coming through in this event.

    He went on and appreciated the public for showing up in big numbers to cheer on their different teams.

    “I Thank everyone that made sure that NRC Mbarara City Rally 2024 was a success. I thank Mbarara people for being hospitable to all Ugandans that came from all Corners of the country to support Motor Sport in Mbarara City. Last but not least, I thank my fellow organizers at MCRC and MPU for a successful Rally opener and the sponsors,” Seth Murari tweeted after the event.

    He congratulated Mr. Jas Mangat who emerged the winner of NRC Mbarara City Rally 2024.

    “Big Up brother and motor sport is proud of you,” Seth added.

    Seth Murari himself was appreciated for doing a lot to enhance on sports development in the country despite a few months into the office.

    Mbarara rally was sponsored by NBS Sport, Aquafina Uganda, Ekhaya Crescent Hotel Mbarara and Bam Petroleum.

    Seth Murari pledges to promote sports across the country

    The National Coordinator in charge of Sports and Games in the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) NRM Mr. Seth Murari has promised to work hand in hand with the media across the country to promote sports and games.

    He said this earlier today as he officiated at a friendly match between Entebbe and Kampala journalists.

    He donated two sets of jerseys, a trophy and cash prizes to both teams.

    “I pledge to work hand in hand with all media houses to make sure sports is promoted country wide. It can be part of keeping the youth busy and prevent them from involving themselves in negative activities,” Seth said.

    Office of the National Chairman (ONC) has appointed Mr. Seth Murari as the National Coordinator in charge of Games and Sports.

    He was appointed by Hajat Hadijah Namyalo and this is aimed at developing talent among the young people.

    Before his appointment, Seth Murari has been a regular supporter, sponsor and promote of sports in the country especially rally and boxing.

    So his appointment has come at the right time for the game.

    ” It’s an honor for me to be appointed in such position to coordinate something i love most. I thank Hajat and His Excellence the President for entrusting me with this opportunity to serve my country. May the joy of Christmas bring you peace and happiness in your families.     Abahumuza Development Group (ADG) has praised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for taking action against those tempering with nature by degrading River Rwizi.

    The media yesterday reported of how a soldier and nine others were arrested for degrading River Rwizi after orders from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who has of recent been tough on environmental protection.

    Abahumuza Development Group has been on the front line of Restoration and Rehabilitation of River Rwizi under Campaign “Save River Rwizi” which now has an annual marathon.

    Through their chairman, Seth Murari, the group has appreciated the President Of Uganda for hearing their cry and acting appropriately.

    Long distance runner Moses Kipsiro will be the chief runner at Save River Rwizi Marathon slated for July 30th 2023 at Mbarara Golf Course.
    The organisers of the marathon, Abahumuza Development Group confirmed Kipsiro’s news to this website on Tuesday evening.
    National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) Managing Director Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha will be the guest of honour.
    The marathon running kits are already on sale at only 20k per kit.
    The marathon whose aim is to create awareness against dumping rubbish in River Rwizi is organized by Abahumuza Development Group and sponsored by Ministry of Water and Environment, NBS Television, Lato Milk, Rwenzori Water, UNHCR, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to mention but a few.

    On Friday 3rd February 2023, all roads lead to Booma Golf Course Grounds for the mega launch of Mbarara City Rally.

    The activities on the day include procession with Horse Riding, Skating, Bikers, Cycling and then after a press conference to crown off the day.

    The rally is slated for the weekend of 10-12th February.

    The long awaited Mbarara City Festival will also take place the same weekend.

    On that weekend, the first national motor rally on the calendar dubbed ‘Mbarara City Rally’ will take place on 11th February at Booma Golf Course Grounds with entrance fee at 10k.

    It is going to be bigger, better and fun filled as Uganda’s top drivers fly their speedy machines in the land of milk and honey.
    The mega Mbarara City Festival will take place between 10th to 12th February in Mbarara City.
    The Mbarara City Festival activities include Business Symposium, Rally, Music Arts, cycling, blood donation and soccer mini tournament.
    Mbarara City Rally is sponsored by Mwesigwa Resort and organized by the Federation of Motor Sports Association of Uganda (FMU).
