Sandra Suubi Thrills the crowd during the 12th edition of Blankets and Wine

The much anticipated event kicked off at 3pm with Sitenda first on stage. Sandra Suubi the multi-talented artist was the second on stage and she did not disappoint.

She started her thrilling and energetic performance with “Togwamu Suubi”, Nsiimye and Tuligibwa off her upcoming album “Anthems of Life”. She was joined on Stage by Xenson and Xabu who also executed splendidly. She brought the house down with the brilliant cover of Simplified by Pompi and her song, The beat which brought Solome a gospel artist and Moroots to join Sandra Suubi on the stage.

She put up a powerful show for Easter and indeed she is talented. The show continued to keep the revelers up on their feet with Madox’s performance, and Uhuru a trio from South Africa. Blankets and Wine is officially sponsored by Tusker Malt Lager.

South Africa’s Uhuru, Maddox to spice up Blankets & Wine’s Kampala 12th Edition

Uganda’s most sought after social event, Blankets and Wine Kampala returns for its 12th edition this Easter Sunday, with a South African flavor and a blend of the best Ugandan soul music.

Slated for March 27, 2016, the Tusker Malt Lager sponsored event has a delectable line up of artistes; South African Band, Uhuru being the main act and will be joined by Maddox, Sitenda and Sandra Suubi.

Uhuru shot into limelight in 2013 after the release of the chart-topping single titled “Y-tjukutja”, which went on to be dubbed as the song of the year 2013 in South Africa.

They produced and also featured in “Khona”, a duet with Mafikizolo which topped many music charts and won several awards in South Africa and beyond including the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards.

The entertainment will be provided by Uhuru, Sitenda, Sandra Suubi and Madoxx Sematimba

David Amon Ssemanda Ssematimba, better known by his stage name, Maddox, will add spice to an already glittery nuance of artistes.

Widely renowned for his classical reggae music that talks about love, unity, social justice, peace and everyday life, Maddox’s energetic performance will be a welcome addition to the revelers who will flock the Uganda Museum, Blankets and Wine Kampala’s proverbial home.

Sitenda, a former contestant in the Tusker Project fame academy and Sandra Suubi to complete the star studded artiste line up.

A quarterly, picnic style music festival, Blankets and Wine is East Africa’s premier music experience, designed to showcase outstanding musicians in the emerging genres of afro-based music. Revelers thus get the chance to enjoy the rich African talent in LIVE performances by a wide array of artistes.

Sandra Suubi Proves she is a Diva at the Qwela Junction Diva’s Edition

The Qwela Junction Diva’s edition concert that happened last Sunday left many still wanting more.

Everything from the stage to the selection of the seven Divas; Ritah Sabiiti, Solome Basuuta, Jemimah Sanyu, Mo Roots, Naava Grey and Rachael Magoola was well thought out. It was a battle of vocals and we applaud the divas for giving it their best. It was a pitch perfect moment.

The show which started at 7:30pm was opened by Sauti Ya Africa followed by the gifted Jackie Akelllo and without further ado, all the divas walked into the room towards the stage singing Sandra Suubi’s latest single “The Beat”.

It was the perfect way to get everyone into the Qwela Junction spirit and moving to the beat. From the time the Divas got on stage, it was nonstop entertainment.

Sandra Suubi’s rendition of Togwamu Suubi clearly showcased her vocal range and ability to draw the crowd’s emotion, as most revelers were touched by the inspiring message of the song and thrilled by her performance. One of the reveler was overheard saying that “The show has come to an end” after Sandra Suubi’s performance.

Aside from that, Sandra Suubi stepped on stage as a real Diva in an outfit that everyone couldn’t stop talking about.

Back stage we caught up with her and she told us that it was designed by the famous artist and fashion designer Xenson. If Sandra Suubi’s performance at the show is anything to go by, we can’t wait to listen to her upcoming album titled Anthems Of Life which comes out sometime next year.

Sandra Suubi‘s unforgettable performance at Comedy Meets Music

It was a night to remember, lots of laughter from the comedians and wonderful songs sung by a new breed of Gospel artists.

The multi talented Sandra Suubi was the first artist to step on stage and she set the mood with her cover of “Take Me To The King” then brought it home with her rendition of “Togwamu Suubi” off her upcoming album the Anthems of Life, before ending her performance with yet another brilliant cover of Simplified by Pompi.

The crowd applauded at the strength of her vocals. The show was great with Pablo as the main act, Dr. Ofweneka, OJ and Laptop who cracked the ribs of the crowd. Salome Busuuta gave it her all and it paid off with the crowd screaming for more. The show was closed by Levixone whose song, Sugar, got everyone on their feet.
